So I got 2 different cars, both with new 5.0 engine's (less than 1000 miles each) both with all new sensors (ACT, coolant temps, AIC's ect..) both are stalling out coming off exit ramps and up to stoplights. A slight touch of the gas stabilizes the idle. Both cars start up and go into idle just fine cold or hot. Timing is set...I'm outta ideas...anyone?

Are the cars speed density or maf? There are a number of things it could be. Checked the voltage on the AIC?

Maybe a dumb question, but have you set the idle properly?

Unplug the IAC, and set the throttle screw so the motor will just barely run. Then re-connect the IAC and reset the TPS.

Vehicle Speed Sensors (VSS) check out ok ??

Both cars are mass air cars

Every car I have ever unplugged the IAC on (about 12 of these) dies instantly.

One of the cars has a TKO 500 so no speed sensor hooked up. The other has a Painless 5.0 EFI wiring harness.

I set the Idle that way on every car I mess with and they always idle on the money afterwards. :dunno:

Not sure if the Cobra is one of those but it's doing the exact same thing. Really weird!

Clean the Throttle blade and body with a plastic brush and cleaner if you have not yet. We used to set the idle like Paul does. Try adjusting the throttle body some to get it to run with the Idle air control unplugged and set the base idle with the throttle screw and the IAC unpluged.
