It seemed like a good idea since there's a chance of rain this weekend....
Drove 1hr. 45 min.... bolted the slicks on it, 1st pass was a 12.05 and I was launching at 5,700... Sixty foot was a 1.57.... Then, I thought, well, the track is working so I better launch a little higher as I know it's gonna take a "hail mary" pass to run 11.99.....

Next pass, 1.57 sixty foot and go 12.01 @ 111.34mph.....

3rd pass, 1.59 sixty foot and it goes 12.01 @ 111.45mph...

I don't understand how the friggin' thing slowed down .02 in the sixty foot but still ran 12.01..... (probably my driving... it's been 6 weeks since I was in the car last...)

4th and final pass, I decide to push it up all the way... 1.59 sixty foot... 12.00 @ 111.45mph...

That's my new best but I am aggravated that it is so close but refuses to do it... Maybe next time I'll pull the passenger seat out.... :cool1:
It's like the car is tormenting me.....

1320/MPH=optimum ET!
1320/111.45=11.84

Hey, be glad. I was there last night and lets just say that it's probably down for the year! You might have seen me? I was the one who started blowing smoke out at about the 1000' mark!

Shallow stage the car. When you roll into the staging beams to turn the second light on, go in very slow until it just barely flickers. It will give you somewhat of a running start before you break the beams and give you a better ET. I know you will get that allusive 11.?? then!!!!! Good luck

Sorry to hear that Cindy. Did the stock engine finally give up?

I think you have a 12.00 limiter on it:lol: It's there easy just need a little better air or take a dump before you run next time:D

I don't recall seeing anyone smoke at the 1000' mark... Sorry to hear about that...

It's close... I know I'm there.. I got a different mass air meter to try, plug wires, 1.72 rockers, maybe order that dyna battery..... I should've put another click in the shocks and seen what that done... Oh well, I think this car just likes to be difficult...

One place told me I should see 5-7 horse at the tires with the rockers... I'll believe it when I see it.....

I never thought of that... I guess I could always "dumby" the car down when the Stangbangerz militia is around... Then turn the wick up when they are gone...

I wonder what the DA was last night up there... I know when I was changing back to my street tires, the roof of the car was wet with condensation...

Accoring to the information I could find, the DA at 8:53 PM was 2325 ft.

Your corrected time was an 11.68 @ 114.4

Those are damn good 60s for running at Muncie. Their prep on Wednesdays usually dont allow that!! Good job

so how's that track now that they re did it?

Thanks everyone... I felt that the track wasn't as good as it could've been or as good as it was on April 30th when I was up there last... I didn't see them spraying or see as many people breaking either... So, maybe they decided that Wednesday wasn't worth the effort.... LOL!

I love that track now... the only thing they need to do is mess with that rinky bridge crossing on the return road... It's so narrow... I won't be at all surprised if someone smacks one of the gaurdrails....

Sorry to hear that Cindy. Did the stock engine finally give up?

Nope, just got the valve covers off and I bent a valve, so far.

I thought Munice was way better than it used to be. The return road is kinda narrow, seeing as I had to be towed back.

You'll get that 11. Your sixty foots should put you there, just need a little more ass.

I forgot that they resurfaced it. I havent been yet this year. I only live 25 minutes away too! Kinda sad. The return lane has sucked for years. I wish they would black top the entrance and parking area. Thats the biggest complaint I have always had about Muncie. Maybe they will start upgrading more things since they are sanctioned now.

well sounds like you had your "bracket car limiter on" lol nice numbers none the less, besides like they said you would have to change your sn :))

Nice times there Curt. Like we discussed on the phone the other night. I believe as soon as you change the rockers or that meter you will be in the 11's. Hang in there you will get it.:bigthumb

Cool your car off for a long time remove your serp belt in the staging lanes. Install the belt after the run at the end of the track after you shut it down.

Thanks Steve.... *(at least one of us is optimistic...)*

Timido: I'd like to try that but I got that March alternator bracket deal and it's a little time consuming with that turn buckle deal...

Went to Tri-State today and was just disgusted... Ran twice and got the *&%^ out of there... 12.19 @ 110.40mph was my best run on a 1.70 sixty foot... (I feel ashamed to even post that time...) Oh well, Muncie is like a traction shrine for me...

Tri-State was not hooking at all...I thought I was going to have to lift on slicks Saturday:lol: I was pulling 1.54's usually on a bad day I can still get mid 1.4's. Tim was even having some trouble.

dont feel bad yesterday was about 3000ft air and the best I could muster was a 1.48 smoke show usually at a crappy tristate I run 1.44

Well, it's nice to know that I'm not the only one that is slippin' off the line... What I don't get is how I would come out of the burnout and the car felt like it was going to hook... Then at the line, it was a spin fest... Oh well, how's Edgewater hookin' these days....? I haven't ran there since March 29th... :AR15::lol:

I was getting 1.5 on drag radials 12lbs boost at e20 then went to tri-state on slicks and getting the same so I would say e20 is hooking much better.

Yeah Curt hopefully Dave will post up video from Tristate Saturday. You 'oughtta see my one pass, inches from going into the grass. The bad thing is that wasn't the bad run off the line. My run before that I was first in line after all the street cars and I tried to leave at 5800 and the whole car kicked sideways as soon as I dumped the clutch and I damn near put it into the tree. I was pissed and left it be known to the guy working the staging lanes that his sidekick working the tree needed to get off his lazy A$$ and prep the track a little better when the slick cars come up. I got an apology and it wasn't much better next round. I think I am sticking with Kilkare for TNT for now.

Well, I'd like to see the video.... When is that Engel(sp?) guy building that other track.....? I'm so ready to strike against E20 and Tri-Slick that it's not even funny... :AR15: :bigthumb

5 years from now it'd be nice to drive by those dumps and be like, "man, remember when we were forced to run at those sh*tholes...."

Although I hear E20 is better than it's been in a long time...

Keep at it Curt..you'll get it. I'm hoping to find a track rental day later this fall at Norwalk that I can go to with my car. I'm planning on going to tri-state next saterday to see if I can get my 9.

I ran on the new pavement at Muncie tonight. It is 250% better than it ever has been. Everybody was hooking great. A 700+ horse 07 GT500 was struggling a little but it was still hauling ass!

That track is nothing short of amazing.... In my opinion... I know alot of the "bangerz" hate it but it's under new ownership and they've sunk some money into it... I could care less who runs there but if you want to turn the wick up on launching your ride and run a personal best, Muncie Dragway is the place to do it...

I was thinking about going up on Saturday since they are calling for rain around here... and I'll bet they really prep that track on a race day...

*Warning* If you have stock axles, please run on street tires so I don't have to wait while they clean up the mess.....

Usually Saturday is well prepped. Should be badass now. I was stunned at how good the track was. They are having a friday night thing this week also. Import vs. Domestic shit
