I bought a transmission off here and it is a tremec but 5th gear was taken out for some reason so i got kinda a deal on it. I took it up to AAMCO and asked them to put the 5th gear back in it and the parts cost more than a new transmission. so i called tremec and said it was stupid that i could buy a new trans for about the same price as the parts cost to fix it. so they gave me the parts for free and i just had to pay for labor.
I get it back in my car and take it down the street. 1st - 4th gear felt real nice. went to go on the high way and shift into 5th.....no 5th gear. i was pissed so i had to take it out and take it back up there and they said it was defective parts from tremec.??.. well anyways i did not really care but maybe thats why the parts were free haha

2nd thing.

My buddy has a rx7 that we put an ls1 into last summer. he took it up to the drag strip kil kare or what ever the place is called and made a couple passes and everything was all good til about 5800 RPM one of the rods decided to let go and break in half and tear up half the motor and made a nice hole in the side of the block. needless to say he is building it bigger with a 408 stroker kit once he finds a nice doner block.

i love the whole car thing but sometimes it just pisses you the hell off i am telling ya.

I am still trying to figure out why you would take a Tremec manual transmission to AAMCO. I thought they did stock automatic work.

i had the trans out and looked for a trans guy but noone was very affordable with the price of parts up to 1100 bucks. the 5 speed shop is in kenwood about a mile down the street from the mall.
yes i know aamco sucks balls but it was like my only option cause noone would take this job up

You would have had better luck taking the tranny to DTR in Milford, and thats saying ALOT!!!!!!!

Affordable or getting the job done right the first time?????? I do Honda trannys, due to a supplier having shitty synchros, I get to eat some labor charge. I won't be buying brass from them EVER again..........

How do you crack 2nd gear synchro??????

transman or timido (?) have you ever seen this on T5/T56/Tremec?
