I've got a set of GT40P heads I was considering selling, and a friend of mine wants them to put on his 351W, Now I've heard somewhere before about drilling them to fit the bigger head bolts of a 351W, is this common? and How easy is it to do? I'll be the one doing it before he gets them, any ideas would be great, thanks!

A long time ago, I helped a friend drill out a set of E7 heads for a windsor( they were heavily ported). If I recall correctly, the bit was a 17/32 and we used a really big "old" drill. It took a while, that cast iron was stubborn!!!

I'm not sure if this was the correct way to do it, but it did work back then!

ARP might make head studs for this swap. Screw in all 10 then drop the heads over the studs. They would taper down in size after screwing into the head to fit the smaller head hole.

ARP #254-4503 and #254-4703, show 351 w/SVO and GT40 heads. I would think that is what you need.

I'll have to look into those for him, If I say he needs em, he'll buy em

it would save a ton of work, and you can't ever go wrong with new headbolts/studs.
