i'm trying to put a set of hooker 351 swap long tubes on my fox prt#6223
problem is they dont line up in the tranny humps to make it easy to add rest of the exhaust.h or x pipe.has anyone had issues with these headers and found the cure.i need a solution.

My hooker s/c 1 3/4" lt's for a 302 are the same way. Only really line up on one side. I at first hacked the stock tranny crossmember for clearance...I have since fabbed up a tubular tranny crossmember that sits higher in the trans tunnel. I also used a dr. gas x-pipe kit that was fitted and welded to fit right. Hooker use to make a x or h-pipe kit that worked with their headers...one side of it had a bend in it to make it fit with the stock tranny crossmember.

The tranny crossmember that Vinny helped me fab up.

Maybe the one side is "mis-aligned" to allow for starter clearance ?
Do like that custom crossmember.

My hooker 351 swap headers were very High also. I made a xmember kinda like Jeffs. Make sure you use a rubber trans mount. A solid trans mount will break the case.
