Ok, I can understand going to Iraq, but why is Barack Obama visiting Europe? Are there untapped American votes hiding in France or something? I'm sure that the secret service is traveling with him. Just seems like a bit waste of everyone's time and money for him to be traveling through Europe when he should be campaigning here at home.

He has pushed McCain to the background the entire week because of the media coverage and has gotten a lot of air time he didn't have to pay for. The entire trip was designed for domestic consumption.

And he's lost 15 points in the last month to McCain and the trip did nothing for him. On top of which McCain has done nothing to gain points.

I thought Obama was only ahead by 8 points?

Last month he was up by 15. Now it's a dead heat 41 to 40.
