Well I got started taking the old girl apart a couple days ago. I have all kinds of ideas on this one from mild to wild. I figure I will get past the hard part the rust and making her pretty first. I picked this car up at an Auction in Indiana last fall. I had my heart set on a 2 door post 1964 Fairlane but I could never find one I could afford. The long term Goal is a Street-Car. The 1965 Comet was used in Early Racing. 1964 1965 Comets were raced in Super Stock and some of the First A/fx and B/fx "Funny Cars" were Comets.

So Far I have on my mind

Tie the Frame with square tube
New Floors
Fix all the Rust
Mustang2 Front End 11"brakes Power Rack
Engine- EFI Small Block Ford
Power Adder Cough T-70 Maybe
Trans I Have a T-5 and a C4 I guess it depends on the Power Adder
Bullet Wheels Look kinda cool on there and I allready have em

Yes. I plan on tieing my frame like they did. I am not going to alter the wheelbase and as much as I like the look of the A/Fx cars I dont plan on the ill handling straight axle. That engine they are doing is cool as hell but I looked at Sean Hylands web site and they want close to 15,000 for one (5.0 DOHC individual Runner EFI)

I always felt that the 64-5 Comet was one of the best looking Ford products of the sixties. I passed up a chance to buy an all original, red on black 64 Cyclone for 800 bucks about 11 years ago. I still kick myself in the ass. I could have driven it home! I was young and poor though. Thats gonna be a sweet car!

Well tonight I finished removing the front fenders and removed some of the structural roof flashing that was screwed to the torque boxs/toe boards. I used the shop vac to remove about 10 lbs of sand and rust from the torque box. This looks ugly around the front torque boxs and floors. Picture tomorow Hoegaarden Tonight YUM
