I'm looking at a supposed GTS Mustang and was wondering if anyon knew what digits on the VIN designates that option.

Dont know about the vin.But,it has manual windows no spoiler and i think no badging.Its a no frills mustang 5.0L.It was only 94-95 years.Ive seen two in the past 10 years.

they have them from 94-98. Manual windows is a big identifyer.

A lot of them have maual windows, no rear defroster, no fog lights, and no spoiler. However a lot of people who bought them ordered them with a lot of those things. There were none produced in 1994. In 1995 there were 4848 sold with the manual transmission and 1522 sold with automatics. There were 5479 total units sold in 1996 and I beleive they dropped that option after the 96 production run.

I believe you could still get it after 96 just didn't officially call it a GTS. My 97 was one such car. Option code 248A.:rockon: They make great race cars. Mine was down to 2900 lbs with me in it and it wasn't totally gutted.

I couldn't find any production numbers after 96 for the GTS/248A mustangs.

248A option was available from 96-98. Only 95's were designated the GTS name plate. If you want to know if it is a GTS for sure, run a car fax on it and it will tell you if it is a GTS or not.
