I need a fresh (legit) copy of XP installed on this PC. I also would like the USB ports on the front of the computer to work also, there's no jumper in place, but I did install a USB 2.0 in the back. Anyone able to do that for me? Its becoming a pain in the ass with all the media software checking for legit versions of XP.

Also, the computer is a p4 2.8 with a gig of ram. Would Vista bog this system down too much? I'm not sure if I can add more ram to this one or not.

Vista would bog it.

As for a legit copy of XP...........

I MIGHT have a legit upgrade version (upgrade from 98/me/2000/nt).

Yeah we tried Vista and hated it, I'd stay with XP also.

Vista needs ram

32 bit gets 3 GB
64 bit gets 4 GB

Why does it have to be legit? Using it for work or to run a business?

If you meant to say that you need a good working copy that updates and has a legit serial, then I can hook you up.

Computer has been acting funny lately so I wanted to do a full install again. I can't put music or anything on my phone because the software won't install on the computer because it fails the microsoft serial check. Also looking for drivers and couldn't find them because of the same problem, I'm just over it.

Did it fail the initial WGA test that came out as an udate a few years ago? I have never had a problem with serial failures, and I just chose not to install that update, ever. And I'm running an anti-bill version of windows

I don't remember exactly, but it seems like every time I try and install some new software its checking windows for authenticity and kicks me out of the process.
