My starter is stating engaged for a couple seconds after the car starts. Its a 93 so the mini starter came stock. I replaced the motorcraft with a new one cause I thought it was bad but it does the same thing. So tonight we checked the siloniod on the fender and it was not sticking , started the car and pulled the siloniod hot wire off the siloniod on the fender and it still did it. right now I have the main wire coming off the switched side of the siloniod on the fender to the starter. And the small wire hooked up to the male spade connecter on the starter. do I need to change something cause this thing is driving me nuts.

sounds hooked up wrong. Main heavy gauge battery wire goes to the starter main lug. Or main heavy gauge wire off Constant on solenoid to stater main post. The ONLY wire on switched side of apron solenoid should be a tiny 10 gauge wire going to the starter as a signal for the starter solenoid. Confusing? yes, but i can almost bet money its wired wrong.
