I sat in my very comfy chair in my living room and watched them on TV. While sipping on an ice cold adult beverage with my family around me, I actually listned to the sound track. It didn't have that WEBN flare to it. It had alot of classical music in it, tracks from the Lion King, Pirates of the Carribean, etc etc. What has WEBN done? It sounded too new age and soft. The older soundtracks were more heavy. I don't remember much pink floyd this year either or AC/DC.
The actual fireworks were cool as always but in my opinion, the music kind of sucked.
What do you all think?

4th step on the serpentine wall, just west of being centered up between the bridges.

Sorry for the crappy pics, it's a cell phone and I had to hack them down to upload them here.

It was nice down there tonight. It wasn't hot and the wind blew the smoke downriver, so the majority of the shells were going off against clear black sky. They didn't have as many big shells as they normally do though, the ones you can really feel hit you.

We do this routine every year:
Park on the street around Vine and Central Parkway about 7:15, you'll find empty meters, no need to feed them. Get to the wall about 7:30. Avoiding traffic on I75N on the way out- we take Central Parkway north to Marshall Ave, then cut under the highway. Go to Spring Grove and hang a right. Take it to Winton Rd and hang a left. Take Winton Rd north to wherever you need to go. I dropped my Dad off in Springfield Twp and made it home to West Chester by 10:45.

Edit: Oh yea, what is this music you keep referring to? All I heard were some loud ass fireworks :) I heard the sound track about 5% of the time, maybe.

I've only been to the fireworks once. It was the year someone was killed with a ball bat afterwards, late 80's.

Parked on third street, the exit from the garage dumped you right onto Fort Washington Way, up 75N I went, across Cross County. I was at the Krogers in Kenwood at 10:10 PM!

I had a kick ass spot, on the Newport side right in front of the barge that they let the fireworks off of. My friend Kelley works for clear channel and got us in, free beer, awesome view, I had a great time.

I watched from home with my girls..Clear Channel hired us again to pick everybody up in the limo's. After last year's fiasco I passed on driving. Plus I was at Cbus with rick(331twistedwedge) most of the day.

Anybody see the triple axle hummer down there? Probably parked on the Ky side..

I watched the channel 5 broadcast this morning off the DVR. That was a million times better coverage than last year, ignoring the obvious improvement with HD. Way better angles, and most of the time they caught all of the good stuff. They missed the start of the very last barrage, but got most of it.

The shots down close to the water reflecting the red and white fountains going off the barge were cool, and the waterfall from the bridge with the boats in the shot was good. The tight shots of the gold and purple stuff going off together was perfect- that gave you a taste of the real color and brightness you see in person.

As good as it was, the first few shells on TV sounded like - pft, pft. Those suckers were loud. They need to do something with the audio to pick up some audio "thump".

I had the (unfortunate) pleasure of watching them in front of that nice stage between the Big Mac and the Purple People bridge....so I didn't get to see the waterfall or any of the good stuff from the bridges :(

I took the kids and girlfriend to the Kentucky side. We sat right behind the fence where Benson catering was cooking all those hamburgers and chicken breasts. Damn near smoked us out. Everything was awesome except for feeling like we were in a herd of cattle being pushed past golf carts and dumpsters. After we finally made it out of there and was walking to our car, we saw a drunk couple that split up to go around a small crowd of people and when they got in the clear could not find each other. They were standing back to back about 20 feet apart and never turned around to notice how close they were to each other. We watched as they walked farther away from each other. Then came time for us to get paid back for laughing at the drunk couple. We made it back to our car around 9:50 and then waited untill about 11:35 to get out of the lot we had parked in. Oh, I almost forgot, before the fireworks started we got to watch a drunk fall down over the orange fence and onto the concrete trying to hit a beach ball everyone was hitting back and forth. This was the first time the girlfriend and kids have been there but they said they liked it so we will probably be going next year.

We also watched it from home. I thought the music was horrible, What happened to WEBN. The only thing I thought was really cool was how they spelled WEBN with the fire works otherwise the show was kinda lame. Very disappointing.

I wasn't disappointed at all, but that might be because I was right in front of the barge. I had the best time down there that I've ever had, never been THATCLOSE though. ;)

Didn't watch them at all. We were camping and we don't even take a TV. My wife was offered free tickets to watch them from Buckhead but turned them down.

I believe it was a lack of Eddie Fingers that make things feel bland.

 WEBN sucks ass now anyway...That's probably why Eddie went to WLW. I have not listened to the Dawn Patrol since shortly after he left. Thank god for satellite radio!

btw...didn't see any of the festivities...busy enjoying the water on Lake Cumberland (after getting the damn grass mowed & the trimming finished).

I sat back and watched the fireworks in HD at Steves house... I agree with the music... very Un-WEBN-like...

But of course the station is missing Mr. K and Eddie Fingers afterall...

This was the first year that I didn't actually get to watch them. I was sitting in the jump seat of the fire truck and you couldn't see them from the part of bellevue i was in. We did get too listen to the music though and i thought that it sucked compared to previous years.

We were in Lake Cumberland. We DVR'd them, but haven't watched them yet.
