Ive been looking on here a little bit, my computer in my car was bad thats why the fuel pump woulnt work. If I am going to spend the money for the computer should I rake the money together for the conversion. SD comps are only about 100 on ebay so i was wondering if you can make good power out of it and who has?

well if you can hold off for 2 weekends i'll let ya know lol. my build thats going together on the 20th is based around stock bottom end, SD car. My ported gt40 irons, ported explorer intake/gt40, 1.7 crane cobra RR, 24lb injectors, 190lph fuel pump, regulator, offroad h pipe, fms ceramic shorties, advancing cam about 4 degrees, 65mm tb, (might toy with 70 in future)all going down next weekend hopefully. I've talked to some speed density guys on the build, and of course non speed density guys say it wont work, lol If your already MAF tho i wouldnt convert, unless you convert to a standalone, which is based off speed density.
Goal is 300rwp,

I am SD right now, 3/4 say dont do it and 1/4 say you can do it.

I have been following your thread for a while cant wait to see what happends, wish i was closer I dont know alot about builing cars but love to learn, good luck

Do some research on 50tech.com==proven SD setups over there.

If you swap to m/a, harnesses from 89's are a direct swap. 90 to 93 harnesses are different. I would swap to m/a, but it really depends on your goals. There is no way I would pay $100 for a s/d comp.

Speed density will work without a doubt. Todds86 was running speed density on his real street car for a while and was having good luck with it but was talked back into mass air and the problems started back. I think he made 580-590 to the tires on an NMRA legal jet size all with speed density. It went 10.50's granny shifting it at tristate leaving on the bumper at legal weight back then was around 3200lbs.

:agree: I sold a few for 5.00 and might have another I will sell for 95 :lol:

every were i read pretty much says SD cars are a pain in the ass, is there anyplace I can get the whole mass air conversion with out having to move pins and wires

No not really just order the mass air conversion kit from Rohe racing its like 35.00 and takes about an hour just use solder and heat shrink and do it right. The directions are very simple.

I have the directions down pretty good.I can probly make copies of the pages for you and fedex them to ya.It tells you which pics what color and where to move them to.I might also have the aftermarket harness to do this with also,with the pins just for that.

Hey face were you located? could you fax them by anychance? also how much for the mass air plug? anyone have the computer? 5 speed


The frpp kit? do you have to cut any wires? or just plug and go.
