Holly, when TT makes it to the track. I think you should make a couple passes down the track yourself. Have the boost controller and tune backed off. Footbrake it, ease into the throttle and enjoy every second of it. :) I think you'll be glad you did.

Lifes about opportunities and experiences. I see this as a great memory and experience for you to cherish. One that we all will long remember.

I've always thought, that was the way it should be.

Maybe let Holly make a pass, or two, then turn the wick up! (Of course, with someone more comfortable, with what it may be run). :cool1:

I appreciate all the suggestions and recommendations, but no one is driving TT except Craig and myself. Vinny and I have A LOT of money in TT, and now so does Craig. I am making a fair and rational decision here. NO 16 year old is driving that car, PERIOD.

Friends stepping up to help another....I remember Holly telling me about Vinny at his last Cruise in....He said to her, Proudly, "I did this" as he looked at all the cars in the lot. Now its our turn to "do this" for Vinny. To finish what he started, to show everyone that TT was worth all his and Hollys headaches....

We got the piping re-figured and almost done. We just need a 3" coupler (be here tomorrow) and add some Hygard fluid to the trans and TT is ready. Ill have to see when Paul is ready for the final night of Dyno time. I wanna back up that 1000 mark.:eek:


I have pictures on Kennys camera, so once I figure out how to DL them, Ill post em. I have shots of the interior with the New Autometer tach in it along with some other shots. So be looking for those.

Ill be in the shop early in the AM going over TT again. We filled the trans, shifted the shifter, but ran out of time, so I need to drive it on my side street to check out the Trans barke, two-step and to make sure it shifts!! LOL!!

Im sure he will be. Thats why I put both seats back in.:)

I made a decision today - I am NOT selling TT until next spring. I want to drive it eventually. Craig and I rode around the back lanes of Edgewater today and talked, and he showed me some of the basics of how to drive it.

Craig didn't notice this, but a few others did. It was a cloudy cold day at Edgewater, but right before he made the first pass, the sun came out from behind the clouds. It was weird, and just a moment, you had to be there.

I'm so fired up about finally seeing it go down the track today. All you guys that were there to help Craig today - THANK YOU SO MUCH! And thank you Craig, this whole thing was just meant to happen. ;)

Well I feel like a total ass right now because I can't tell ya the last time I've been on the site. Kind of stopped for a while. Holly told me what Craig was doing. I was one to know without everyone else. I guess I didn't think things would be posted...what was I thinking! So I sat here last night and read 29 pages of this thread. Sad that I couldn't be there and didn't know about it till that morning. Sad that I haven't read anything and haven't been able to help out in the money catagory...Craig, watch your mail... And yet proud of all who helped make this such a great moment. I guess in reading everything, I had thoughts that once the TT was done then Vinny will be gone from everyone's mind. It seemed as though this was something that brought him all back to us and I hope he never is forgotten.

Thanks for at least bringing back memories and finding closure for some.

hmmm... well apparently there's a small problem with the suspension. Maybe some adjustments will help.

Make a few tweaks, and heat up the tires again.

Make a bit of a softer launch, fight the car the whole way down the track, and a 1/2 throttle run out the back door does this.

We have TT on the lift. Torque boxes dont look that bad, that arent great, but with some work, we will get em back.:)

We just ordered all the parts to finish up the Anti-roll so hopefully that will Tig'd up tomorrow.
I can then break out the Seam sealer to keep some of the tire smoke out of the car. I did Cheech and Chong (Up in Smoke) proud on Saturday.:lol:

Is it coming through the hatch area also? Its also makes me wonder about how it launches.With a hatch and all that area exposed and not tied to anything (hatch closed and latched) that it would take away from the rigidity?????

Well the warm bug hit the shop today and we decided to Tweak a lil on TT. If you watch the above video, after the burnout TT would stall. So out the laptop came and we sat there in the shop trying to get the "tip in" and some other issues figured out. The Anti-roll Links are waiting to be installed, some other little interior issues addressed and TT will be ready for its new owner.

TT isnt officially up for sale until Holly says so, but I have been telling customers about TT hoping to find TT a good home. There have been some serious customers inquiring, so we will see what happens.

Now for those who will say.......

She also knew (along with a few of us others) that Vinny wanted to get TT done, make some hits at the track, drive the streets and make a couple cruise ins with it....THEN SELL IT! He was already working out plans for a new project. (I think he was eye balling the Coupe for a complete make-over)

So...HOPEFULLY I will try and have TT at the cruise in. (Im NOT driving it there, although that would be sweet) With Hollys permission, TT will try and make some clean runs at E20 to further help its sale.

So there it is.
Vinny brought so many of us together, NOT TT. We should remember what a GREAT guy he was, not from his CAR, but by his actions!

I will always be greatful for the short time I got to spend with Vinny.....

Damn, I missed this whole post. Very well said Craig, and thanks for your support, and more importantly, all of your hard work, and your help (and everybody else that has stopped by to help with it).

I would love for you to take it to the track and get some clean runs out of it. Once YOU think it's "ready" - it will officially be for sale. I can't drive it, and I don't have the money to put into it (meaning tags, license, race fuel, etc.), nor do I have a way to get it anywhere, other than Craig's trailer (Raceme has hauled it a couple of times for me too). Vinny wouldn't want it sitting there in the garage for a THIRD summer - he would want to see that bad boy out on the track!

I remember doing the whole "Burnout" with Vinny Laughing just the two of us sitting in his garage....I would rev it, set the line lock, bring it up on some RPMs, shift second and roll it out after releasing the line lock button, I wouldnt forget the Psssssh whoossssh fluba fluba sounds either. Then we would talk about what its going to be like when he actually did get it to the track...Life sure is unfair sometimes.:(

We messed around with the tune and got it reacting to part throttle much better. We also tweaked on the timing and took out some down low. We plan on strappin TT to the Dyno one last time and do any fine tweaks.
TT needs a BATH BAD! There is Garage dust on it and Im not bringing it out all dirty and ugly.:tongue2:

I finished up what I planned on doing. The rear speaker grills, fabbing the anti-roll bar links and finishing their install.

Yay! I'm so happy to hear it's finally running right. To all of you guys that helped Craig work on it, thank you SO much! Vinny would be very proud to see that you all came together to fix what needed to be done. I can't even begin to tell you all how overwhelming gracious I am to all of you, especially Craig. You know Vinny loved ya like the brother he never had. ;)

And yes, Twisted Twins is officially "FOR SALE" now. I haven't put it on any other web boards, or Craig's List yet, but I'll probably do that at the beginning of May if nobody on here is interested. I might be interested in a trade plus cash, but I'm picky about that. I want at least a 2000, GT, black, 5 speed (I'm not asking for much, huh?). :lol:

Twisted Twins has been sold and is going to a new home. I am going to let the buyer tell you who he is when he is ready. A lot of you probably know him. ;) Please don't keep asking, like I said, he will let you know. He is someone that Vinny and I met at a race back in 2002 in Columbus (I think, or it could have been BG) so he's not a stranger by any means. He's someone that will keep us posted of its progress!

This whole thing has hit me pretty hard honestly. It's like I'm letting the last little piece of Vinny that I have, go. I know it's just a car, but I was there with him every step of the way while he built it, and to know that he never got to race it makes me sick. I know that he would want that car to be out, being raced, and not sitting in a garage year after year, that's not what he built it for.

I want to thank everybody for pitching in and helping to get TT running right and able for me to sell. Thank you for your donations, your time, and being the best bunch of friends he could have ever asked for. You guys are the best, Vinny would be so proud of you ALL. But the biggest thanks goes to Craig, he went above and beyond for me with that car, even coming to get it (with Joe Palmer on the day the hurricane blew through Cincinnati last September) and having to run to Wal-Mart to get a battery for it to get it out of my driveway! He has kept it stored in a nice, safe spot since last September, and he is really the one that made the sale, Craig could answer any question that was thrown at him. He knows that car inside and out (a lot more about it than I do!). So thanks to everybody, and THANK YOU CRAIG, you know you made it possible for this to happen, and I can never thank you enough. Vinny IS proud. :angel:

I'm sad, melancholy, but also, very excited that this is happening. I just feel like it's the right thing to happen, and the right time. Until you are put into a situation like I have been, you just don't get the different emotions that tear through your body and mind, they are pretty damn scary sometimes. But at the root of all of those emotions is what you feel in your heart, what you feel is right, and to me, this feels right. I am happy about my decision and hope to have everyone's support.
