Vinny was ALWAYS helping out other people. He went above and beyond for family and people he just met. He was the life of the party and always had attention when he was around. I swear he was a magnet and he would always draw people towards him. It was crazy, but those of us that were close to him, didnt mind. We were use to it.

Vinny went threw some trying times with TT. Clic on the story in my signature and its all there. It seemed like just when he was seeing light at the end of the tunnel, something stupid would happen. (Rolling his Truck was the first thing that came to mind but there were others)

Then finally after all the BULLSHIT, he gets it running and driving. He, like all of us, experienced the "new car blues". You know, the typical "whoops, I forgot to tighten this", "SHIT, I didnt think that would rub." or "30 LBS OF BOOST!! HOLY SHIT!!!" Paul told me about the burning spark plug wire story. Its funny now, but Im sure Vinny was Shitting himself at the time.

Well Life happens, and for reasons beyond anyones control...Vinny was taken from all of us. Im not going to go into details. We all know what happened and we all miss our brother...It still hurts to this day, but Im tired of the hurt and want to do something positive in a negative situation.

Holly was left to deal with TT on her own. The only experience she had with TT was feeling Vinnys frustration at it, but also his Highs with it. She was always there for Vinny, good parts, bad parts, shitty painter guy, good painter guy, etc etc....

I saw where she was trying to sell TT and she mentioned something about it not being moved/started in a year. I know how people are, if they showed up to look at TT and it didnt start, the first thing they are going to do is try and beat her down on price.....F THAT!! She has been threw way to much already and someone low ballin her isnt going to fly. I PMd Holly and asked her if I could throw something her way, just an idea I had. I asked her if I could come get TT and finish what Vinny started.

Final Chapter.....

Its been a long time since TT has seen the Sun. It was in the Garage, covered up.
http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL86/503042/20574445/335054673.jpg

Still shiney!! There is some work to do to get it running as good as it looks.
http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL86/503042/20574445/335054684.jpg

Didnt think we were going to get it loaded. Dead battery and Ike kicking our Ass'!! We got it loaded and heard two trees snap off around us. Hollys one neighbor lost his John boat, and another had a HUGE chunk of tree in his yard!! Crazy day!!
http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL86/503042/20574445/335054696.jpg

TT awaiting some love.
http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL86/503042/20574445/335054701.jpg

I always gave Vinny shit about how the front wheels stuck out on TT. We laughed about it and I knew he was going to get around to fixing it......
Rob@Rigid has them now.
http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL86/503042/20574445/335054717.jpg

We will be cleaning up some stuff under here. I sent the VCs and Fuel Rails up the street to St Bernard Polishing for a much needed polishing. We are also going to re-route the WG lines and re-do the spark plug wires and tidy up some of the wiring concerns.
http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL86/503042/20574445/335054752.jpg

http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL86/503042/20574445/335054764.jpg

One of the other things he was going to get to...We are going to Fab up the rear Firewall.
http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL86/503042/20574445/335054772.jpg

Vinny and I always made our lists. Its a great tool to keep you on track.
http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL86/503042/20574445/335054781.jpg

Our goal is to get TT running, driving and Dyno tuned to its ultimate capability. It will start right up, idle like, and have the street manners of a stock 5.0. At the touch of the button, boost can be increased or decreased as track/street conditions warrants. And well, just go over every nut and bolt to make sure all is right. When we take it back to Holly, we will have a battery tender on TT so any Low Ballers will have to look long and hard for something to complain about.

Ill keep taking pictures and posting them up. When TT is ready for the Dyno, we will get a video of that as well. There is no set time on this, but I want Holly to have TT back on the market as soon as possible....

So stay tuned and wish us luck.:)

 As much as I, and I'm sure many others as well, hate to hear that TT must go... it is Super Awesome that you and everyone else involved in this is taking care of TT to get it in tip top shape for Holly to show it to potential buyers.

It would be great if someone on here could/would step up and buy TT and keep it around for us to see at the cruises and at the track... but if its not so, then its not so...

Best of luck to you all with this project, and I can't wait to see a "Twisted Twins Update" again :)

I talked to Jason today and he told me about the Dyno session at Pauls. :( They were having problems with the WGs.
So I went over to Turbomustangs.com and found a thread started by Vinny (Thanks Guy!!) asking about the Cartech WGs. I bumped it to the top and explained what we were doing and asked for help on getting the correct WG springs for TT. So hopefully, we can get that situation resolved and get TT making some safe power!:D

Thanks for all the well wishes. Im hoping this turns into something cool for Holly.:)

Craig your one helluva guy to do something like this. I'm glad it's finally coming together and will be the car Vinny was hoping for. I really hate to hear that TT has to go though. I was really hoping that Holly would learn the ropes and go out and enjoy what used to be nothing but headaches for so long, but I also understand that there's other things going on that Holly has to take care of before trying to race something as wild as TT will be. Goodluck to Craig and his crew down at CS. If anyone can get the car up to par..it's those guys!!

Craig, I was with Vinny when he took it up the road and it was running 30lbs of boost. I remember him later talking about the wastegates. I know there was a spring issue plus he told me he talked to the guy who he bought the kit from and he told him that he needed it plumbed different. It was something about the way he had it set up before he sold it to Vinny. Don`t know if that helps you any?

Timido
09-19-2008, 09:32 PM
The last issue with the springs Vinny was trying to find out what kinda of wastegate springs to use I think the wastegates are Cartechs old ones and they were no help in getting the right springs.

DUDE...THATS FN AWESOME!! Let me get right back to you in a second.

What a night. ALL my girls are at the lake so I get to stay out late and work on TT. WOOOT!! Kevin swings by for a bit and makes sure TT is getting the love it needs. he tells me he and Amy are going out and that I should join them later. SORRY GUY, I just got in.
So Im working away and Mike shows up along with Andy. WTF?!? They had no idea TT was here. Anyway, they quickly jump in and we start tearing into things. Actually, I finished installing and indexing new plugs. I run the valves and finish routing a new boost line. (Blake, a fellow employee) looks at me, "WTF are you doing?" Im plumbing for the boost controler...Why are using hard line? cause it looks cleaner. Hmm, I never thought of that.:)
I guess you had to be there.

Anyway...Andy crawls underneith and pulls off the pass side exhaust. Its "Turndown" was facing directly at the fuel lines and they were turning black. Not good, so he cuts off turn down and awaits Mike to weld it back on.
Meanwhile, Mike is finishing up a half ass template I started for the rear firewall and turns out very cool. Sweet, stuff is getting done!!
Paul shows up (he just bought a house right up the street from the Speed Shop) and hes in his STANG!! HOLY SHIT! It still runs!!
So we look at the Wastegates and next thing I know we have them apart. The passenger WG is all sticken and hangin up. The drivers side is opening and closing easily. So apart comes the pass side, and insert file to clean this POS up! The valve itself must be bent, if you turn it, it binds up about 3/4 of a turn. Where as the drivers side turns freely. I spent an hour on the internet looking for clues and possible parts to fix the WG.....NOOOTHING! I even brought up an old thread on Turbomustangs.com that Vinny started and asked for help. (Ill have to check that in a minute)

So in all, it was a pretty cool night. What was really cool, Paul doing his sound effects when describing the Maiden voyage of TT!! You all will have to ask him to tell you the story.:bigthumb

Well heres some pictures....

I installed the Blingy Fuel rails.

Donations.....

ALL you guys and gals are GREAT for offering up donations. This will DEFINATELY get TT up and running sooner!!
The only thing I ask, PLEASE make sure you let me know who you are and a screen name. I want to acknowledge EVERYONE and have accountability for EVERY penny.

You can paypal donations to.....
Craig@cincyspeed.com

You can mail donations to.....

Cincy Speed Warehouse
Attn: TT
7306 Vine St
Cincinnati, Oh 45216

OR you can swing down to the store and donate in person.:)

So far im only around $100 into TT. (I have a receipt with everything spent so far, just ask if you would like to see it :) ) But there are other issues that need addressing. Ive got all the labor lined up and everyone is donating their time (ie FREE!!) So all we need to take care of is the parts themselves.

When TT is Tuned, Shined, and running, we will take the money left over and donate it to Holly. Hopefully it would put a dent in the cost of running SBZ for another year.:bigthumb

Thank YOU Craig. I was just out in the garage sweeping it out (again) and was thinking about what great friends Vinny and I have, I got a little sentimental out there. I might have a better option than Tial. I emailed JGS Turbo about a couple of there JGS400 gates and hopefully Lance can hook us up like he did on the pinks car with a blemish. They may have a small scratch or something similar but they will still work perfect. I should hear back Monday I would think

I wasn't sure if I should post this openly because I don't want to be controversial, but Timido thought it was appropriate, so here are my thoughts about the TT project:

SBZ.com feels to me like it has come back around to the way it is supposed to be.

Craig, it's hard to believe that a few short months ago you were ready to leave this place. Everyone knew it was wrong, but it was hard to tell how to handle things. Vinny had a knack for ironing stuff like that out and the rest of us are left trying to figure out how he did it.

Then when things in upper management here at SBZ got changed around, there was a lot of uncertainty. A lot of people tried to push the notion that SBZ was over, that it would never be what it once was.

I'm glad that everyone hung in there and just kept at it. I believed then and now that if we worked through the hard times, we'd come out of it even stronger. Now that I see what you're doing with Twisted Twins and how everyone else is rallying to support the cause, it reminds me of what a great group of people SBZ is and what a great leader you are. I respect you for that, and I wanted to say that publicly.

This all makes me proud to be one of the Stangbangerz. I know that due to geographical and other reasons, I've always been sort of an outsider here, but I still feel that we are family. That sense of community will outlast any of our cars, I'm sure.

Thanks for letting me be a part of it all. I'll do my best to honor this community with the project I'm working on down here.

I swear its the little things that make a project take so damn long. We've been working on Spark plug wire, LOOMS (ie..my lil zip strip trick) for a couple hours!! Jeez! Theres really no right way to run em. So we worked with what we had and came up with the following.......

Craig, half the fun last night was listening to you guys telling stories about Vinny. Thanks brother.

You have Noooo idea! We just skimmed the tip of the iceberg as far as Vinny stories.:) Im sure if we can get the dedpedal crew down with us one night, we will hear all kinds of craziness!:bigthumb

Hopefully we can get the control arms shortened up in the first part of the week and re-installed.Along with the Radiator fittings welded on and Rear firewall fabbed and installed and the front Dzus bracket re-welded and re-installed.
We then have to wait on what we can do with the WGs. <~~THAT could be a major deliema in the plan.:(
WHEN Kelly or Greg comes threw (thinking positive) on a smoking deal on the WGs we can then get em installed.
Once everything is back together up front, we can concentrate on the other things.
Boost controler
Double check wiring
Go back over suspension
Check and re-check bolts
Finish up exhaust
Re-pack chute...like its gonna need THAT.;)
We might have to replace the battery cable. The exhaust was aimed right at and very near to it. Ill double check it on Monday.
Ummm.....Hopefully the seat belts are up to date....I would hate to get a ticket for expired seat belts.;)
Tune, Dyno and TT is ready for the market.

Seems simple enough:tard:

Im sure Im missin some things. But hopefully TT will be completed very soon.

Oh yeah! I received the first donation!!!WOOT!!!

If ANYONE would like to see where their donation is going, I am keeping track of EVERYTHING that is being spent or donated on file at the shop. When TT is finished, Holly will get a copy and Ill keep a copy on file as well.

Humz...turning the knob all the way to the right makes lots of black smoke if I remember right:angel:

Oh..Paul...4WD-Hi boosted launches (~1800rpms) are fun...even in a 7K# truck.

Good to see TT get finished. Craig...I'm sure I'll stop by the shop this week to drop off a few $$ to the cause....I need to talk to ya anyway and fill some bottles.

You are in stage 1, there are 2 other stages left. I have never intstalled stage 3. 120,000+ miles, no way!!!

On another note:
I did put it on a 94-98 red Mustang last night. I was driving 70 mph on the highway and was passing him. Well he didnt like that so he sped up and "lurched" his Stang like he wanted to run em. I was like Geeeesh...OK!
So I didnt down shift, I just laid into it. He kept up. WTF?
So then he goes on down the road and I get back down to 70. No biggie. He then slows down and Im like Ok guy, you aint gonna be happy.
So we sloooowwww down to around 45, I smack third. I let him jump and Im like.....SEE YA!!! 5k, pull 4th (this is Pauls Stang and I dont wanna break nothing) and run it up to 4500 and push in clutch and coast.
Where did dude go??
You got a smoking cool coupe there Paul!:bigthumb

Anywho.

Can someone that knows Ray (victoryfab) ask him to check his PMs. I asked him if he could do something cool for TT.:)
And someone go check on Rob. Last time I talked to him, he sounded Horrible!:( I hope hes ok.

THANK YOU ALL!
Craig

Ive received a few donnations without screennames. I should be able to track down who is who thou, but if you could, Please include your screenname when you donate. Now if you would like to remain annoymous, please state that and I will respect your privacy.:)

THANK YOU!!! to all who have donated thus far.:rockon:

I have to admit, I kinda got choked up when I showed up and looked at the car. It was almost like seeing Vinny standing in front of me. I havent see the car in so long, it really hit me in the gut and made me miss my best bud. I had to lay down on some cardboard and slide under the car and take a few deep breaths and gather my thoughts.

It was an honor getting to help out just a little bit with that car. See it really bugs me that when Vinny got the car back from paint I was too busy with other stuff and not really interested in the whole hot rod stuff, so I never took the time to help him with it. He would call me on my way to work on week nights and we would talk and I would tell him I wanted to make time to help him wrench on it but I never did. Thats the whole damn reason I got so motivated to put my car back together. I felt like I should do it for him. Tonight, it was like I got to go back in time and help Vinny work on his GT a little bit. I got to help my buddy out.
It felt good...... Thanks Craig. your the best. :)

Anywho...hopefully Rob has some control arms done or near done. Im about ready to drop TT back on the ground and get it on a lift so we can fix the exhaust....Give it another once over on all the bolts, a major cleaning, install all the interior pieces, rivet down the firewall, install some WGs and then TT gets another once over while its running. HELP!!

I am not a carpenter, and I need help with making a rear delete for TT. We tried to work something up, but Im not at all happy with the outcome.
So if anyone can work some magic with some wood, I will be working on TT tonight after work. Please call the shop if you can make it.

Thank you,
Craig

Here is what we came up with.....

hit it with a high pressure air nozzle to blow as much flaking paint off if your not stripping it lol, because you'll sand and feather the edges then goto cleaning it off and blow it off to find half your work blows away :( been there done that, sounds like no flex additive was used last time on the paint lol

Looking great i would lend a hand but stuck at work all 6 days and have kiddo every other waking hour

Got a question for all of you guys. I am going to powder the intake tubing as it was all starting to chip but I'm not sure what color to do it. I could do a satin black which is pretty much what it is now, I have a gray that is almost the same color as the gray on the car or I could do it in the same silver as the intake is. Please give your opinion on which color I should use. BTW I'm not going to make it shazam purple. Let me know asap cause I hope to have it done tomorrow afternoon. Thanks.

Rear delete is assembled, THANKS KENNY! so all we have to do is cover it.

I need to get some wires extended so I can install the rear plastic pieces. Once those are in, I can carpet the rear, carpet the tubs, permanently install FW, vaccum everything, install front seats and the interior is DONE!! WOOT!!

Things left to do.....
Install WGs. (Kelly got two of those for TT!!)
Get items back from Kenny and install. (he is powdercoating some pieces)
Get front control arms from Rob. (He is making a NEW set!) Install them and get front end alignment. (We will do that after its tuned)
Fix exhaust.
Go over everything AGAIN and just double check every nut bolt, fitting, connection, etc etc
Fill tank and put TT on the rollers. (Holly will be notified before hand so that we can dyno TT around her schedule.)

Thats about it.:D

I would like to say again, THANK YOU to those who have helped with either working on TT or sending Donations. TT wouldnt be as close as it is today without you guys!!:)

Yes! Thanks to everybody that has helped out, donated, and pitched in. It was really bumming me out seeing TT sitting in the garage, and knowing there was nothing I could do about it. Thanks for stepping up and taking care of the biggest project of Vinny's life. I have felt SUCH a relief since it's been out of the garage, just knowing it's getting stuff done to it that Vinny intended to do. You guys are awesome. We have the bestest friends ever.

Kinda reality check today.

I was up front talking to one of my customers when he looked through the door...

"Whats THAT!!?" pointing and walking towards TT
I spent probably 20 minutes telling him about Vinny and his "story" with TT. He listened, looked over the whole car and asked alot of questions. I thought nothing of it. Ive even had other customers ask about TT. It wasnt till he said..."How much??" then I was like WHOA....I AM GOING TO MISS TT when it sells.
I always thought of TT as just a car that Vinny and I (along with many of Vinnys other friends) worked on. It wasnt the car, it was my time with Vinny that I enjoyed. But then today, I realized that even though TT is just a car, it is a car that ties many many memories for me...Getting it sold for Holly will help her and at the same time, hopefully.....get me some closure.:(

Life is very un-fair sometimes, so enjoy all the Great times you get!

Hopefully Ill have some more pics tomorrow.

Its getting close.:)

Stay tuned.

I want to see it go down the track, but not in competition, as the dirty dozen shootout is going to be. Does that make sense?

Makes PERFECT sense.:bigthumb
When and IF it goes down the track, Im sure we could get a "single" for TT.
I would feel more comfortable will TT running at E20 all out, full bore, hammer down. But, for the first few runs of TT, it should only be burnout, launches and possibly some half track runs, so TS would be cool for that.:)
