I'm SOOOOOOOO PISSED !!!!!!
I've spent the last 2 days replacing my transmission ( OD and D burnt out on the way home from KK) Any way I bought a transmission from somebody on here, That said it was ready to bolt in and Go.. Well guess what ??? OD is gone and D is on the way out. :flipoff:
I've PM'd them to see what they have to say, So I'm not naming names..
I just wanted to vent a bit.. It wasn't a lot of money, But the tranny on top of driving over 200 miles round trip to get it, At 16 MPG adds up...
And now I won't make the cruise tomorrow...

Are you sure that some adjustment on the car is not out of wack causing BOTH tranny's to burn up?

I know this is easy to do on 700R4 GM's.

the only adjustment i could think of that would cause that is a non attached tv cable weather at trans or tb... an old man with another mark vii pulled up next to me at speedway other day, and got talkign and he was telling me about the deal he got on this ect, but he had to replace tranny because od wasnt working, some trans guy gave him est 1800 bucks... i pop his hood and tv cable bushing had fell out like common on the aod fords... i said go buy the brass bushing and 10 bucks later your trans should be fixed as long as it hasnt been stuck in 2nd gear lol.

i'm sure you checked, and double checked the linkages already, but hell it always seems to be the little things.

TV cable adjustment, thanks for that, I'd forgotten what it was called.

EITHER WAY, I know the feeling and anger having built and installed quite a few trannys.

NOTHING like working 12 hours a day and trying to get a tranny swapped in, took me quite a bit to get it lined up, finally bolted to the block, decided to call it a night and I trip over the clutch arm and throwout bearing.

BUT I've also dealt with shitty trannys that were traded/sold between friends. It's worse when a tranny I BUILT was sold, after being RAPED, two broken shifter forks, sold as good, no grinds based on MY name. Chad installed the tranny knowing my rep, grind city, he was pissed and can't say I blame him. He got ahold of me thru a few different friends and boards, I told him to bring me the tranny. If it is something I screwed up, I'll cover it, no questions asked. I do stand behind my work, quite proud that way, old school, I pride my work.

Nope, tranny was raped and I'll fix it as cheaply as possible, I will eat 1/2 my labor rate to get the Honda back on the road. THAT will create a repeat customer and loyalty. I'm not doing it to get rich, just provide a GREAT service cheaply without failures.

Aaron,

If you can't figure out the issue with your current trans, I have an AOD sitting in my garage if you need a replacement. It came with an '89engine I bought. ~80k miles. I don't know how it runs though. :/

You can have it. Wife wants more room for her car for winter.
