ok i have a 93 5.0 HO (its in a tbird) it has 211k miles on it but runs just as strong as my other 5.0 that only has 40k, the oil is SUPER clean everytime i change it, i havent run a comp test yet but it still feels good.

so i was thinking about getting a lower mileage 5.0 to put in the car because i was thinking about going with high comp heads and putting a cam in after i do the 5 speed swap (not sure which cam yet), but i started wondering if the 211k motor thats already in it could handle it since it doesnt seem to have any problems.

has anyone else done mods on high mileage motors? did you have any problems?

or do you guys think i should just go ahead and get a newer lower mileage motor to use?

It's your car, so I would be speculating at best. I think if it runs good, has great leakdown, and good compression, give it a try.

I agree, at least with this engine you know what you have.
