This just came off a lincoln board i was ecstatic to see it, until i read the cost:eek::eek: So unless i can make my own setup or someone else that is good at fab work can help me (this isnt an immediate project anyhow) It'll be a cold day in hell before the mark see's this. Good for a laugh none the least:lol:
Baer Brakes for our MarkVII
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For the last few years, when on the Power Tour, I (and the other Lincoln Mafia dudes) have been stopping off to BS with the guys at the Baer Brakes tent. In particular, a very personable guy named Dutch Miller. Turns out, he used to work at a dealership here in DFW and once owned a Mark VII.

Seems this posting might be only legitimate upgrade i may try, but i believe switching to the sn95 spindles means i have to drop the air ride ugggg.
Real world street testing has shown that as long as both wheels on the same axle have the same count teeth, the system is fine.
SO, if you wanted to scrounge up the larger 94 and up Cobra rotors/calipers/spindles and modify the ABS sensor wires it's a go.
This past June when we stopped off to see Dutch, he had some good news. They (Baer) had been working on a system that will match our mastercylinder. It seems our m/c is a great match for their 6 piston calipers.
Details:
#1 is their Extreme Plus caliper. This is the monster setup that requires specialty pads and -due to sheer size- big assed wheels. In my opinion only the most extreme roadracers among us would need this setup.
Price is $3775 minus spindle core charge (more on that later)
#2 is the Pro Plus 13 inch. This is the more manageable unit. Requires 17 inch wheels and uses a common size pad from (can't remember what year) late model Corvette.
Price is $2400 minus spindle core charge.
Upon request, Dutch can email you a template so you can determine if you wheels will clear the caliper, or clearance accordingly.
We have yet more choices to make, revolving around retaining ABS function.
Choice #1 you send them a stock Mark VII spindle and they load it up. The rotor uses stock bearings.
This has drawbacks. First is that the hub is the same size as stock. This means the same wheel restrictions due to hub size and centercap fitment.
Second drawback is that *at this time* the rotors do not have exciter rings. No ABS function.
Choice #2 you send them a set of SN-95 spindles. This setup retains the exciter ring and you can modify the ABS sensors to match.
This also has the SN-95 hub which opens the selection of wheels.
When you send them spindles they knock $300 off the price.
This is all I know at this time. If you have more questions, shoot Dutch Miller an email.

Enjoy.

Not to be a jerk, but they'd move a lot more parts if they verified a set of 2-piston aluminum calipers worked too. That's a big step up from stock and must be dirt cheap.
You're not being a jerk. Valid question, one that I asked as well.
The Baer Claw GT is a two piston caliper that works for late model Mustangs. And we could bolt them on (with the SN-95 spindle) but we would need to install the smaller Mustang M/C, losing ABS in the doing. Gotta balance (as much as possible) the M/C with the calipers.
