So I have been seriously considering on getting rid of my nitrous set up and going with a turbo. For starters are the garrett turbo's any good and if so what size would I need to just get me in the 10's. Right now on a 150 wet shot I am running 11.50's with more left if I upgrade my drivetrain. I can get a Garrett T-25 for like really cheap but if thats not going to be large enough than no sense in wasteing money. Any help would be appreciated.

Well I think I found the answer on that turbo its way to small for any of my goals.

Garrett turbos are great, but the GT25 housing will not work. Too small is dead on!

The big questions before you can really narrow it down are going to be: What size engine? What RPM range? How much boost?

If you're aiming for 10 PSI on a 302 and spinning it up to 6,000 RPM, the GT4088R would be a good start while allowing you room to grow. It's a ball bearing unit with a 63.5mm inducer. All of your housing and flange dimensions will be easy to work with as well.

Just my $0.02

:agree: It all depends on what you want and where you see it going so you dont spend money twice. A powermaster cheap turbo will put you in the 10's with the right combo, but a Precision unit would be my choice. A 60mm will make enough power to easily put you in the 10's and with the correct a/r for the combo it will spool very quickly. Ball bearing is nice and if you have the extra money its the way to go. :bigthumb

Use a masterpower T70 they are only 575 new and will go mid 9's if you want just look at JimSVT's old combo. Yougotjunk and plateds car had them also. I have probably hqad 4-5 masterpower turbos and everyone of them have been perfect.

I have a masterpower on mine like 89notch said and I have had great luck with it. My car made 550rwhp on a pretty mild long block including a B cam, lol. I have even turned it up since then and i'd be willing to bet that it's over 600rwhp right now. It's been 10.39 @ 136 with a high 1.7 60ft. I just bolted a real nice set of 28x10.5's on the car and will be heading to the track this weekend. I'm hoping for some 9.90's but we'll have to wait and see.

You should go with a T25. You'd make like 20 psi at idle, and probalby a good amount of torque at 1100 rpms. hahahaha.

That gt-25 would work... if you got 2 of them. Im thinking about doing DIY twin turbo setup in about a year or so and I calculated that ill need 2 gt-25's for my setup

Do the master power. You won't be disappointed. I have never heard one bad thing about them. Another happy customer.
