Running of the DD this Saturday (10/25) at Tristate [Archive]

This coming saturday is the first running of the SBZ Dirty Dozen list this year. This is just ment to be a fun day at the track to try to get those on the DD list and any other SBZ that want to run/watch out to the track on the same day.

Weather forcast doesn't look to good right now..but it may change by saturday.

Breezy with rain in the morning. Breezy with rain in the afternoon. Rain in the evening. Rain overnight.

November 1st is the next planned DD running date at Edgewater.

I'm going to be doing some work on my coupe this week to try to get it to 60' better. If it does..then just maybe I'll sneek up a spot on the list.

Just for a heads up that edgewater is running friday test and tune threw november this year . So the edgewater date would be on a friday. So i hope we can get it in this sat . Its starting to get cold out

I'll have to see how the weather plays out if we get rained out this saturday at tristate. I know I can't make it to edgewater on friday night the 31st.

Well since it sounds like nobody's interested in running after this weekend if it doesn't rain does that mean the door is closed to make the list after that? Or can you run after that as long as it's witnessed by someone else and still make the list?

I'm sure people will be running after this weekend. Yes...you can still make the list if it's witnessed/video/post time slip up untill the local tracks close for the season.

I'm looking forward to running this Saturday since I'm planning to try slicks for the first time. I probably won't make the list but maybe I'll be able to hit an 11which is my new goal. I'm praying for no rain and anyways my old buddies with their Turbo Dodges are ending their season that day with a get together at Tristate. So maybe we'll get to see the old omni kick a 10 second qtr while we are down there.

I was just looking at the weather, now we only have a 20% chance of rain on Saturday, supposed to be sunny in the afternoon.

What time does this shindig start? I know I could go searching, but I'm lazy, and I'm at work and don't have time. Just need to know what time, I am going trick or treating at East Fork afterwards.

Well...the new forcast is looking a bit better. But still not that good for racing..let alone trying to hook high hp cars on little tires. I wonder if the track will even dryout in time with a high only in the low 50's and not much sun shine. I'm waiting on a new front brake line for my heap....i might get it today..if so there is a chance of me making it there tommorrow. Have to see what the weather is looking like in the morning.

I am crossing my fingers and toes that it doesn't rain tomorrow, and that it dries out in time for the running the dozen. I just looked at the weather again, and the high is supposed to creep up to 57 now.

Ya..doesn't look to promising. I'll make a call in the morning... which at this point I say we wait till next weekend. I don't want people to waste their time/gas/gate fee to just watch a few cars try to go down a slick cold track.

I think the track was hooking pretty good...went 1.42 on the back tires then tightened things up...still came way up and went 1.36 9.73@138.65 on the limiter..I'll post some more when get home. That poor trac-loc held up like a champ in a 3600+ car.LOL

I got my first 11 and I raced on slicks for the first time. My MPH actually increase which surprised me. It's crazy how traction can bog down the motor so much. I was scared to break an axle but to my surprise the car held up well to some heavy clutch drops(in my book,lol)

I think Timmado has a rollbar mount for a camcorder....I used it in my car a few times back in '03.

I made my own rollbar mount for my camcorder from a split collar, a plate and a 1/4"-20 bolt. Holds up to all of my abuse!

You could easily fab one from a tailpipe u-bolt!

Nice times guys, I didnt seem the red car run 9's but I saw jims svt hauling azz.

Funny thing is we decided last minute to test out the new tune on the forester(wife usually races it) and I lined up with a 05+ gray GT. I hung with him and then the auto- missed a geat(over reved) to a 13.3@103? So I made 2 more passes and went 12.97@104.39 in an auto forester lol.

The wife and I were talking on the way home and we decided if/when we go all out in racing, it will be a turbo mustang!!!!
