Say, for 5th gear... the higher the number, the lower the RPM (more overdriven).... Correct?

just curious... I am doing research for the future... the distant, distant future!

Same as rear end ratios:
Higher number (lower gear ratio) = higher RPM at a given speed.
Lower number (higher gear ratio) = lower RPM at the same speed

I wasn't too sure... I was looking at tremec's for the future big block swap... Now That I've got the UMTR itch...

Most mustang 5 speeds are going to be 4th gear 1/1 ratio and the 5th gear being a .60 (+-) to 1.
