One of my buddies called me yesterday asking what size of converter he should run on his supercharged mustang. I honestly didnt know what would be best, hopefully someone can give us some help! His set up is a 306 with Windsor jrs, gt40 tubular and a .550+ lift cam with a Novi 1000 pullied for 8psi. He just dropped he T5Z out of it and bought a C4 to go in it. Only reason for the swap is because he had wrist surgery and cant aggressively drive the stick anymore. It is a street/strip car. Full drag launch suspension with big and littles and et streets. He just wants the most of his set up. What would you all recommend? As of now he never has got the "full" potential out of it . Driver mod is alot of it but...... His current best is a 12.30 @ 123.4 mph! With horrible 60s. Hes obviously making good power but needs to get it to the ground. Thanks, Lee

The car is running 3.73 gears at the moment also.

Blower converters are usually a custom order to get one that works really well. Torque and vehicle weight are two key factors in choosing the right one. I'd call and get a quote. Be prepared to pay through the nose; my 2500 stall converter was $550 from Coan! I can't even afford to think about S/C the car now.

He had a Coan 3600 delivered today. They built it to match his set up. Hopefully it works out as planned!

Does it have the anti-ballooning plates on it? That was one of the features on mine. Now I guess I need a nitrous converter till I can afford the huffer.

Im pretty sure he got anti ballooning plates on his. I got that option on my Precision Industries converter so I could do whatever power adder down the road.
