I guess no one here ever had a 5 speed tranny that wouldn't go over to the 3-4 gates when shifted hard.....which is how T-5's snap shifter forks :)

Try that on a Muncie rock crusher :)

"what the f*ck was that?"

Gotta watch that front wheel drive... every now and then she'll get squirrely....

Man, if I made that kind of a goof, I would've drove on out the gate and went home....

I'm not sure what's going on in this thread exactly, but I feel pretty confident saying probably 199 out of 200 of us have never shifted from second to first on the dragstrip. As for that one out of 200... :dunno:

I agree. I have shifted from 3rd to 2nd a couple of times, though.:o

did that in True Street at NMRA BG. Well, sort of. I didn't actually shift to second... I hit the gate between 2nd and 4th and got blocked out. (no grinding or anything) It cost me A LOT in my ET average. It wasn't my car though. Completely different feel to the clutch and shifter. I wish I'd had more time to get a feel for the car. Would've been an 11 second average instead of 12 second average. I digress...

I dont think it was possible to drive out the gate after something like that, seeing as the transmission is probably obliterated lol.

Tranny was fine, clutch discs (twin disc setup) are being inspected.

ONLY reason Jonathan was able to get into first like that is with a Liberty Gear set. If with a stock Honda tranny you would just grind the dog teeth.

I accidentally went from 2nd to 1st on the street in my old ragged out '89 GT

It recieved a new shifter promptly after that.

A buddy of mine has a video of a friend of his's Ford Tempo doing stoppies! I will have to have him send that to me!
