Well The wifes car that I am putting together is speed density. I know absolutely nothing about these. I was originally going to convert it too mass air but figured since I already have the speed density computer and that I would just leave it for now. I assume I just need to hook the one vacum line up to the manifold off the map sensor and everything else is the same? I am not hooking the egr or thermoactors back up in this. Thats not going to affect anything is it as far as the speed density thing is concerned?

Yes, it will. The EGR will set a hard code once you are moving and cause issues. Speed density will work with stock cam and still allow you to run intake, heads, headers, etc, but you must check a/f as you make the changes. An adjustable fuel pressure regulator is a must to alter the a/f ratio small amounts. A camshaft is a no no with sd because it can't tell you aren't under a heavy load like maf can. It will sense the lower manifold vacuum as a load and dump fuel into the engine at idle. This causes it to run like crap.

+1 crowler 15511 cam you can use but not much better than stock.

why wouldnt you hook the egr back up? if your intake is internal egr, such as stock or explorer then why not as long as its functioning it can only help. The smog/thermactor stuff you can delete tho. I'm running no smog stuff with my SD setup, egr setup is stock spacer bored out, only difference my intake didnt have the water setup, so i no longer have water going through the egr spacer. People are scared of speed density but its not that scary of a thing in reality. just dont change engine vacuum and you should be fine

Because the EGR turns on the check engine light, which causes it to go into a rich mode with less timing. If you plug it fine, but keep it hooked up and the vacuum running to it, that keeps the light off and it will operate as normal. Removing it completely sets off the cel and problems. Been there done that got the tshirt.

:lol::rofl:

That was awesome...

Also, Steve's intake is a NON EGR intake. I don't think he know's that yet, but when I was over there helping out yesterday I took a gander and found out.

then steve will have to buy the mil eliminators they are like 30 bucks, to trick the computer to think the egr is hooked up, if the intake isnt egr. I use to have the link to them as a favorite but seemed to go poof
