I live in West Chester but i work down in Norwood and im just wondering what is so damn hard about driving in the snow. People do stupid crap like trying to drive 70 down the highway then they wonder why they wreck. I a 5 mile span i saw 6 wrecks this morning on my way into work. Its ridiculous. ive lived in cincinnati my entire life and im not saying that im the best driver in the snow but i am saying that its not rocket science. people need to not be in such a damn hurry and everything will be fine. idk maybe its just b/c fewer and fewer people have common sense these days.

They are all in a hurry and they think that their SUV is a magic carpet. They don't realize it takes longer to stop....even with 4wd

I love watching people who can't drive in snow. It's almost like when the roads change colors, they completely forget how to drive. Like it wasn't covered in the book they had to read to get their license, haha!

Most people having issues in the snow have hard, high mileage crappy tires that can't "get a grip". That's by far the biggest problem IMO.

I say they just cant drive. Two years ago when we got 10+ inches of white death I was out in a lower civic on tires with the treads bars showing, I didn't get stuck....but did buy new tires shortly there after when I could afford them.

Have you ever driven a car with dedicated snow tires? Some of the all season tires are very close in design and siping quantity. Tires make all the difference.

I agree plenty of people suck at driving though, no doubt at all, I think we all see that every day. Some people can't drive anything straight and are constantly correcting the wheel. Others can't keep a constant speed and are either on the gas or off the gas, there's no in between. Both are asking to break the car loose in the snow.

Exactly. People thing tires are tires. My sister in law still has her 20's on her surburban with low profile summer tires and wonders why she spins. She figures adding 100lbs to the back will help . Yeah help her slide faster.

We went up to milford ealier and saw 2 close calls. Some people just need to take a course or two.

I see more friggin spinouts and wrecks...the last week, it's been snowing/raining/sleeting on I65 north of Indianapolis all the way into Chicago. People are hauling ass, then when they hit a slick spot, they go flying off the interstate, then everyone else panics and slam on the brakes, and away they go, doing 360's into the fields. All the while I'm praying they don't bounce off me, or go under my trailers.
You want excitement? Pull a set of empty double trailers with a single drive axle tractor in a high crosswind on icy roads topped off with snow! I earned my money last week...probably be worse next week up there. All this excitement with the aggravation of it being our "peak" season...Yay!

any change in the weather and ppl drive like tards in the cinci area, and you would think with northern weather they would be used to it. but those ppl are the ones who need their drivers license revoked.

Someone hit the phone pole in fromt of moms last night, popped both air bags, mind you they were in a neighborhood with 25 mph speed limit, going uphill @ 9 pm. I got home about 11:30 and had no issues.

The driver said he was only going 20 mph, more like 35 mph, didn't hurt the pole as they bounced off.

On the way to the WW Event on Saturday, we must have passed over 20 TOTALED cars in ditches and on the side of the road. I was in awe, considering the majority of them were new! Mind you, we live in Northern KY and only ventured up to Cincy Speed.

People need to use some common sense when driving.... It's not that the road conditions were horrible, rather the fact that people try to go too fast and cause accidents.

I went to Perfect North and instead of the usual 80 minute drive it took more than 2 and a half hours to get there. I will say this, the all season Michelin tires on my wife's SRX blow in the snow! The tread get packed full of snow and then its like driving on slicks. Hell you can't have any fun in it either since you can't turn off the stability control.

Jumped in the F250 on saturday.Damn plow wouldnt work,so I kicked it off and rolled up to Cincy Speed.Played around there for a few hours and went back home.I worked on the wiring for the plow and got that workin again.

The wife came home from work and we headed to Skyline top grab some grub.It was the Skyline on Kemper and Hamilton. Its only like 1.5 miles from the house.Didnt see to many wrecks, but people sure do drive like idiots.

We were on our way back from Skyline coming down Pippin and tryin to turn left onto Roosevelt.I was waiting for an opening when I looked in the rear view mirror and saw some quickly approaching headlights.I said "were gonna get hit",I brace for the impact staring at the mirror when I see her car turn sideways, I thought she was going to get takin out by the hitch in the bumper in her drivers door. She gains SOME traction and heads into the ditch to my right and slids right up next to my truck. We hop out and make sure she is ok.Police show up,and I head back home.
Kinda stressful just for some damn SKyline. It was good food though.:bigthumb

Maybe it is just the new expedition but I was out in the shit saturday night and sunday and had no problems. Even the little ice storm we had on monday morning gave me no worries. Don't know if it is the new car high or not but i had no problems starting or stopping. My SUV has automatic 4x4 and full time 4x4. I put it into 2wd and dognuts are fun!!!!!!! So is a burnout. Just ask Kevin. I did one in front of his house!!!!
