I was trying to figure out if i can take the clutch and 157 tooth flywheel off my roller 302 and put it on a 351 windsor, I didnt know if there was a difference in the weight or the balance of the two, any info would be appreciated

I think they are both externally balanced but I'm sure someone will post up who is for sure.

I believe (correct of wrong) the 351 is a 28oz imbalance and the 302 is 50oz imbalance. The swap your talkin about would not work.

He is correct the clutch would work, but you need a flywheel for a 10.5" clutch with 28 oz imbalance.

Correct. All 351's are 28oz. And all 302's after '81-'82-ish are 50oz (can't remember exactly which year)

And of course, the first year for the 10 1/2 inch clutch was '86 I believe. So finding a STOCK cast iron 157 tooth 28oz flywheel to build a car on a budget seems to be very difficult. For me atleast.

In 1982, they went to 50 oz. Just remember it this way, a 5.0 is 50 oz balance. We're not talking a 302, but a 5.0

This is Ford differentiated the two, the early ones were 302s (28 oz) and in '82 when they brought it back as the 5.0 (50 oz)

Somewhere in the middle it was a 255 (junk) and I thought I remember eading that wasa 34 oz balance, I may be wrong on that part though.
