anyone run 9's with a stock shortblk?

Over on Turbomustangs there are a lot of guys doing it. Turbos are easier on the block I guess. Guys in r/s were doing it some back in the day, but most of the time they would chuck a block or something after a few passes.

Finally did it this weekend. Connelley/Mitchell racing went 9.99@128.5 on a stock short block with a stock a9l computer...car went a 6.33@109 with a 1.43 short time, (best of the day was a 1.410) in the 1/8 and on the play back tach the car was on the revlimiter at 6250 at 8.4 seconds into the run...so for 1.5+ seconds the car wasn't accelerating!

Your in the right section, a 302 is a windsor based engine. Most people just use the windsor designation for the 351 because there used to be three 351's.

i figured it was obtainable,i might try it this year if i dont sell it.
hoping another 100shot and some porting will get me there.
my best 60ft were 1.46-1.48 this year.
im going to put in some subframes and take hopefully another 200lbs out of the car. weighed without me 2835lbs with nos tank and half a tank of fuel.looking for 2600lbs or less.

Holy Sh!t!!!!! Your a brave individual there. I already know how much you're spraying and you are going to add an additional 100 on top of that:eek:. If nothing else it will be one hell of a ride. Good luck with it.
