Has anybody ever thought about putting a sbf based engine in a f body? I can get a great deal on a 2nd gen f body but i'm not into chevy powerplants and just happen to have complete ford driveline waiting to go in something.Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Don't even waste your time. Sell your ford drivetrain and just buy you an LS1. I've already been the ford route and since i've switched over to an LS1....I dont think i'll ever look back.

You're asking on a Stang site, of course you're gonna be told to use the Ford haha.

Sell the Ford and build a SBC. You might not be into Chevrolet engines now, but once you build one and figure them out you wont turn back. I can promise you that. You'll be happier and faster in the long run. An LS1 or other Gen III/IV series engine is another good choice if you're not worried afraid of spending some money and doing a little work.

Besides...there's a reason people put Chevy engines in Ford chassis' and it's not the other way around.

put the ford in it, it would be built like a rock but with a ford block!!! you cant get any better than that!

I'm against cross breeding, unless your putting one of those V8's in a Supra or Mazda :)

I'd have to say, a Ford engine in a GM body is just as gay as a GM engine in a Ford body.

you said a 2g F body, meaning a 70-81 chassis, never a FoMoCo powerplant between those frame rails!

Keep the Stang in Stangbangerz and forget about the 2nd gen chevy. Get a decent stang and install that driveline.

You better take some measurements first. I can almost guarantee that the SBF is bigger than the SBC, it might be more trouble than you think.

Ford is smaller, well the 221-302 that is.

Go ahead! Its always great to make fun of the cross breed crap at car shows and at the track. I hate cross breeding no matter what brand motor is going into what brand body. Get an LS1 or get a ford body. Save yourself from getting made fun of from both groups of followers.

well said! I drove an 87 gt when I was looking fo rthe car I have now. When I got back form the test drive I opened the hood and found a TPi iroc motor staring at me. I shut the hood and told the guy no thanks! I guess blown 5.0 plus wrecked camero = pile of shit?

SBC to SBF, you might want to take another look at that.
