Since around July, all hell has been breaking loose in our family.
It started with having to attend 2 funerals (which btw, I'd rather take a shot to the balls than go to one...) for dear friends of the family. Then upon leaving the last funeral to go home, I was called and informed that a childhood friend of mine was killed in a car crash...3 funerals in 5 days...:(.
After that, the wifes Grandmother (her dads mom) goes into the hospital, and the Dr.'s tell us it doesn't look good, and they don't expect her to last very long...she proved them wrong! Then my father in law goes down with a huge heart attack, and before he can get out of the hospital, the wifes other grandmother has a heart attack requiring a quadruple by-pass. Then about 2 weeks later, I have to take the wife to the ER for chest pains...nothing wrong with her heart, but anemic and was hospitalized for 2 days. Monday, my mom had to go in and have surgery (unexpected), all went well and now she's home. Lastly but not least, Wednesday I get a call from my wifes cell phone, but it's her boss calling...she had to be rushed to the ER via lifesquad for severe stomach pains, passing out, and vomiting. Ater having tests done, they determine she has a twisted intestine, and they wisk her away for emergency surgery. They had to open her abdomen the "old fashioned" way...scalpel, not laproscopes...and they had to remove a small amount of the intestine that had "died" from the blood flow being cut off. They think she may be in the hospital for a week, and not fully recovered for about 2 months. Surgeon said this could have killed her, had it gone on much longer . What makes this worse is, they took her to Christ Hospital(don't get me wrong, they are taking wonderful care of her, for which I am grateful), which is about 32 miles from our home, and I get the pleasure of driving all the way down there.
Man! It seems like there is a black cloud of doom hovering over our family...hope 2009 is better, and we get through 2008 without anything else happening...(knocking the HELL out of some wood!!) I don't think I can take anything else going wrong...I feel like I may flip out if it does...I have had to be everyones "rock" during all this, by picking up the slack when someone goes down, along with trying to go to work...from tuesday evening until Saturday night, I had 6 hours sleep TOTAL...God help me...maybe I need to get BLASTED...
Thanks for lettin me vent/ponder. ;)
