Here's a few pics of the progress on my '86. I'll get more pics as time goes by.

I swapping in a tubular K-member and coil overs. So I'm reinforcing the shock towers to take some of the extra weight. Some plate welded to the inside bottom of the shock tower.

Some vertical bracing from the plate pictured above to the front sub-frame

Welding up some of the seams.

Welding up some of the holes that I didn't do the first time.

What color are you going to end up spraying on the car? Your work is looking good. keep the pics coming.:bigthumb

The car will stay the same color, dark green. I'm not spraying the out side, other than the new hood and a few touch ups. The engine comp will get shot with black again.

Well, the coldest day of the year and I got the paint on. . . . finally.

Primer, it was done on Wednesday.

Then the black that I shot today. I'm no painter/body guy by any means but it works for me, as this is a street/track car and no show car.

Time, yes I have that, and space, well I had to wait a while before we bought a house with a place for my Mustang.

A few new pictures with updates. I mounted the manual brake conversion kit, line lock and replumbed the brake lines. I bought it over the summer at FFW Norwalk.

The brake lines are green , they are polymer coated stuff I bought at NAPA. I'm guessing it's for corrosion resistance.

Great progress .Is that a factory Dark Green car?

Thanks for the compliments guys

Actually it's a factory silver car. A previous owner painted it teal, then purple and white. I took it down to bare metal and had a buddy (May93) spray the paint. It's "just" dark green and from certain angles it looks black.

A big thanks to May93 (JR)

Well, I found out the hard way today. Test fit the CC plates before you paint. I never thought about it. So I had to break out the die grinder. Now I have to touch up the paint in the slots.

test fitting, I know it's upside down, it's just for fitment.

After a few minutes with the die grinder

I suppose I need to take a few pics today.

I didn't forget to post pics, I forgot to take the camera out and snap some pics.

I got the UPR k-member in, along with the manual rack back in.
http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s156/nuttsgt/3-15-09pics030.jpg

A shot from the bottom.
http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s156/nuttsgt/3-15-09pics025.jpg

Brakes are done too, other than being bled. I painted the front of the backing plates black and the back of them silver to match the new suspension parts.
http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s156/nuttsgt/3-15-09pics023.jpg

Then I had to pull the steering column out to get the outer shaft back in.
http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s156/nuttsgt/3-15-09pics026.jpg

I needed to fix a little wiring mess from rearranging things
http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s156/nuttsgt/3-15-09pics031.jpg

Everything where it belongs and tied up. It was easier to take the fender off to work on things the reach up underneath and not being able to see very good.

I am curious what made you decide to mount the starter solinoid on the drivers side. But cool looking fuel system though.
