What heads are you running? Stock piston's? You should be fine though.

I'de use the stock ratio rockers because if you use the higher ratio rockers you might run into piston to valve clearance issues unless you flycut the pistons but i dont know if you'de have to or not

I'm pretty sure the pistons will need flycut

What year is the block? You should be fine, i don't see you having any trouble at all. There is alot of people that run the combo you are. I have seen people run a x cam on a stock short block without fly cutting the piston's and that was with victor jr and twisted wedge head's.

Are the piston's flat or do they have valve reliefs in them?

they have the valve releifs, its an 88 gt and i am using the same rocker ratio. id love to run the x cam but it seems to risky lol

evil666stang had to flycut his with a fcam and windsor sr heads

That's because of the 2,02 valves. I ran an f cam with gt40 heads with 1.7 rockers

I just put mine in and checked ptv clearance and it was fine...I put 600' springs in it too...Just make sure you check ptv to be on safe side though..I still have stock pistons in mine just 30 over is all..I started with stock rockers and just put the new 1.6's on it yesterday..

ok thanks man. that helps alot... i just looked at a bunch of videos and looked up some info on the x cam and it sounds like a lot better cam then the f cam. duration is a little shorter but oh well lol. the heads i have have performance beehive springs but idk they are rated at...

I went to a 600 lift spring just to be safe in case i wanted to go bigger later on...As the x cam is 542' lift so i have room to play...Good rockers you got there also...I have the cheap scorpian 1.6's but they work
