View Full Version : for doing front lowering springs

im going to do the front springs this weekend. ( probaly sunday)
and was wondering whats the best way to go about this?

can i just remove the break caliber un do the strut from the spindle and drop the A arm to remove the spring or is there something else i need to do? i know ill need a spring compresser but anything else im missing here?

thanks. this is on my 89 Mustang for those who didnt know.

you can get away not using a spring compressor, if you need a hand give me a call at 740-272-3125 i only live about 20 mins from dublin area and have done lots of springs on my car

when would be the best time for you? id appreciate some help. last time i did front springs i lost some teeth lol.

Shouldn't need a spring compressor with those springs. Pretty straightforward. You'll for sure be able to tell once you get the stock front springs out, and set them next to the new springs and see the height difference.

Lowering springs are a breeze! They practically fall right into place. I had to tear my front suspension apart to rebuild it, and I was afraid they would fly out of there... but they just dropped right out... so putting them in was easy as pie.
