So the pics in the EBay ad are NOT the actual car ?? Now THAT is FRAUD if he is claiming it to be the actual car. NOT cool if it's true!
You "may" want to post this up on the DaytonStangboard since the dude is from Centerville (next to Dayton).

Clearly states its a limited edition car in the ad. "Triple White limited edition"
Turn him in, did your buddy take pics of the "actual" car when he came to pick it up?

The guy did not show up till after we left, we looked through the window in the garage, saw that it was a regular LX and left, I thought of the pic thinig after we already left, the guy called to see where we were, he argued with my buddy saying that the piicis were taken last year by him, then aftyer stating the obvious differences kinda said..."well.. maybe that one is not my car" I wish we would have taken a pic through the window but we we so pizzed we just left. the guy said "well, even though it runs well! you don't want it anyway?" I cannot believe he would not admit that that was a different car when pics clearly state otherwise. he apologized, but our isisue is that he does not screw someon that may not be as smart as us and pay too much for a regular LX.
No carfax, talikng to the guy on the phone, both my buddy and I did, led us not to believe any issues, and we are familiar enough with cars to check body damage or any other "hidden" work, we both have bought dozens of cars and are not amatures, besides, not everything gets reported to carfax, like if it was fixed by a side worker, I know what to look for, I can tell non factory paint or seams, I grew up in a body shop, and mechaniically know how to find issues.
so this was just a case of a long drive wasted, it happens, thats why I never send ANY money until I see an actual car.

I am not sure if a Feature car would come back as different from a LX like a Cobra would, looking at the pics I would not have thought I would see a standard LX, I have never had some post pics of a different car totally and not say that they were doing it, usually someone would say "looks siimilar to the picis Ii posted" he saiid these were his car.

it looked like this, identical exterior, and same color combo, just nicer, still the car was nowhere near as nice as the pics even if it was the same car...

yes and no, I have done a ton of deals on Ebay and other places, I have only been burned a few timies but always just a wasted triip, Ii never send more then 100.00 deposit no matter what, and always use cash, nothing ever made to the persons name, too hard to change if there is an issue, I have had issues with more places then Ebay, we actually found this car on Craigslist first..by the time we had more interest it was already on Ebay.
I usually just make sure ball is in my court, we liost 100.00 in Diesel fuel and 6 hrs time, could be worse...

I would not have even bid on it. For one he has a 0 feedback and is selling a car as a first auction? Sorry no biddie! I've done my share of selling and buying I always look at feedback first!

Yea, but you have to look at it this way, everyone has to start somewhere, the only reason it was bid on was to not let another buyer get the car, like I said, we saw it on Craigslisit first, he had to bid so he could end auction to my friend as highest bidder, it would have happened anyway even not on Ebay since that is where we found it.
I always look at feedback too, usually you would have to bid what you are safe paying as sight unseen... no big deal... BUT a completely different car????? price was agreed from Craigslist anyway, he bid what they agreed on, figuring the car was at least what the pics said it was.
