bad deal with a guy from middletown

well i spent half my saturday installing a car dvd tv in my family van
to find out it does not work!

heres the long and short of it
i bought a go cart for my son for x mas and found out maybe im rushing him along a little to fast because he needed about 2 more feet of legs to ride it
so i decided to resell it on craigslist for $275

so anyhow i get a phone call from a guy in middletown and he offered to trade me a jenson dvd tv for a car which sounded like a fair deal to me plus it would be great for my boy when we are out driving around

so the guy shows up at my house with a buddy that is a member on here [nice guy] and we ended up doing the trade
while he was here i hooked up power to the radio just to make sure it worked
and everything looked fine i didnt hook any speakers to it because i figured
well everything is good so far and he seems like a straight up guy

well after spending half my day installing it i find out it has no sound!
i called a buddy who installs car audio for a living and he comes over to tell me the amp is burnt up in the radio

well now i go to call the guy up i got it from and i deleted his number in my phone so i have no way of getting a hold of him?
when they were at my house we were talking about stangbangerz and they said they were friends of metcalf and hulk?

so whoever you are give me a call if you want to do the right thing and make it right! 513-293-0882 clarence

Does the low level RCA outputs still work?

I have a few old Alpine 3522's that could use a good home for very cheap.

Rated 30x2 or 35x2, but those ratings were very conservative. Alot better ratings that most head units.

We kinda need more info than that. There's ALOT of people that know Craig (metcalf) and Mark (hulk). They didn't mention any or their names or anything?? What were they driving and what did they look like?

they were in a red f150 standard cab 2wd about a 2000 or so
both guys were around 25 -28 years old
not the guy i traded but his buddy said he had a fox with draglights i think he said it was black anyway he said it was 306 car on spray
he also said he was at hulks house the day before because i asked how hulk was doing
[keep in mind hes not the guy i did the deal with he was a pretty nice guy]
its his buddy that fucked me!

found the guys number in my phone records his name is eric has a 218 phone number
talked to him he said it was hooked up through amps so im guessing it only works through the rca jacks
it would have been real nice it he would have told me that before we did the deal!

So many "bad deals" are just a mis communication. Be up front with any and all info and you solve alot of problems. This guy almost had all of us looking for him.

are you sure there isn't a menu option to turn the on board amp on or off if it has one?

I have 1 or 2 off brand amps that suck. I am sure they work but if you want one you can have it. I know how I would feel doing that ans then it not working. IM me if you want. I live in mason ohio

hey sean thanks alot for the offer but i gave the radio to a friend with a sn cobra
it has the mach 460 system so he is just using it through the rcas because his car has factory amps
all i can say is lesson learned!
