Ok,

I have two 4R70W's one on the Mustang (the backup tranny) and one on the floor (the broken primary tranny), I can't find anyone out here in the KC area that can repair or rebuild them that's not going to try bend me over to fix them. Here is where I am looking for advice or help on what to do from the SBZ's, I am looking for some place that might want to repair it without it costing me an arm and a leg, to get it done right the first time and last a racing season or more. I don't care about shipping costs as long as the S&H is at a far cost to me.

These are the choices...

1. Do I just fix what I have? Both the primary transmission and the back up transmission locally or shipped out of town.

2. Do I just save up and get a super comp transmission build up from PA and just be done with it.

3. Do I just keep waiting and got for a whole new setup and switch over to a C4 and all the parts to make the switch over.

I an open to all ideas and thoughts on this matter, I am needing to do this within the next 30 to 60 days.

Kyle,
You may want to talk to Don or Rob Lasota about a good 4r70w tranny builder. I'm pretty sure that is the tranny they were running in their 95 vert w/ a single turbo stroked windsor combo. I know rob is now running a C4 in it. Here is their website with their contact info. http://www.lasotaracing.com

You could call Darrin at BC Automotive he built the one I had (Bobtsgt has it now)

All depends on what you want as in auto shift/manual shift. Locked converter/open converter. If you want something to take the power and still want to row the gears get a manual valve body C4. if you want to just drive and not worry get a built 4r70w with a good triple disk converter.

Kyle,

I think Dan Gilsdorf is in the KC area, he goes by "Silverfox" on clickclickracing.com

From the research I've done the past two years...he is THE MAN on Ford O/D trannys.

Stick with the 4r70w...built correctly, it's stronger than any c4, plus you keep o/d.

Emailed Dan, still waiting to hear what he is going to want to charge. PA wants 4850.00 for a Super Comp Tranny.

I am still waiting to see what Dan is going to want... :dummy:
