I got the new Boss inc. 83'-86' cowl hood in Thursday. I'll document the progress till its on the car. I am supposedly the first person to receive one according to Todd at Boss. Here are some pics of the hood, now at the body shop. For now it will be prepped and painted black over and under. I bought a stencil to paint the factory GTstripe on it instead of the decal. I haven't completely decided how the stripe will be. I am leaning toward a satin black stripe, (instead of the factory dark charcoal), and the letters GT in silver metallic. The body side moldings say GT in silver and the hatch says mustang GT in silver, so I figured that would match nicely. There is no other satin of any color on the car now and I figured dark charcoal would look more out of place than satin black. The outsides of the stripe will follow the curve of the sides of the hood instead of being almost straight (like factory). And it will stay on the top of the raised portion only and not onto the sides.

Here is a side view of the car so you know what it looks like. And a few of the soon to be gone hood. The crappiest hoods you will ever see (Cincinnati composites). I have been wanting to get rid of this for 6 years but always end up buying go fast parts instead. I finally did it.

This hood is beautifully shaped and the quality is awesome. It is fully finished underneath. There are no slots or holes cut in the back of the cowl but rather a 1" gap between the firewall and the hood under the back of the cowl. Makes it look really clean and is supposed to have lowered engine bay temps by 380 something % above a certain mph. Boss now makes Steeda's race hoods with this design on their 05 up cars and Steeda saw under hood temps go from 192 to 120 by the air box. The only thing that worries me is I did not test fit it. In all the excitement I completely forgot.

Anyone know if they have a current website? All I could find was an old site just showing two hood styles for the 87-93's.

Any pics of it installed? I had a boss inc on my 90 chp and loved the quality. It was much sturdier and didn't waive at me going down the highway.
