Way overpriced IMO. I never realized that those were modded by ASC McLaren. That would explain the performance.

i Had a friend a long time ago who had one of these. But he only found out what it was after it was sold. He found some paperwork and ran the numbers and there it was. He was big into these cars. Had 1 with @ 1200 hp. The guys a real dick but could build a motor.

The thing it, that is a steal considering the adjusted sticker prices were 55-60k in 87.

I know, I sat in the one at Fairfield Buick.

Sean, how could he not know? Either had to be stupid or not keen on Buicks.

of the 547 produced, all had a dash plaque, list price was $29,xxx

I'll never forget back in 1987, there was a Buick dealership over in Fairborn.

I was working a WPAFB back then and used to drive by it everyday.

At one point, they had (17) Grand Nationals lined up in a back lot!

I thought how cool it would have been back in 1969 to see (17) brand new Mach I's lined up like that!

Should taken some damn pics. :dummy:

Although i love my mustang i would sell it in a second for a GN. I did own a 70 Gran Sport (GS 455) but unfortunately after my divorce i was forced to sell cause of my ex wife (f@$kin bitch) i miss that car so much. I still kept in contact with the person that bought it from me but he won't sell now. GN are awesome cars and hopefully after the misses gets done with school i can purchase one.

My ex-husband has a Grand National, (not the GNX model), but that car was really fun to drive in 1987. It's a shame though, he has it sitting in his garage now and refuses to drive it. The wheels are dry rotting and it doesn't run anymore. I'll never understand that:dunno:

GS 455 Stage 1 is my dream car, if not a GSX in Apollo White.

I would love to have a GN but it seems all the ones that are nice cost a fortune and the ones that are affordable at real POS.

My ex friend who had one thought he was smart. He thought he could work on and build cars. He was a liar and a cheat. He was so smart he got one of these buicks that was damaged and thought he would get it cheap and turn it fast. He got into some trouble and had to move it fast and later found out what it was. I am glad.. He was a real jerk. He knew it was a grand national just not this one. Makes me smile every time I think about it. So yes,,,, he was stupid

Believe me i cried when i sold it. Then the dam lawyer wanted half the money. Mine was Cortez gold it had 54,000 orignial miles and was like sitting in 1970 all orignial. The guy i bought it from had it in his garage for 5years and he even went as far as taking off the grill and storing it in his attic cause he was afraid it would get damaged.
