Ok so I power on my laptop, goes to the windows xp loading page with the little loading bar. When that goes away a thing pops up that says.

Isass.exe.

This application has failed to start because DNSAPI.dll was not found.

Can someone help me fix this problem.

If you have the xp cd, boot from the cd and go into the recovery console. That's where I would start.

yup, quick google search yielded that.

Unless your working on a puter whose BIOS was changed to boot from HDD first instead of the CD-ROM.

Depending on the make of the computer you can change the settings in the bios. My home puter is the f2 button when it starts to boot, on the hp I just put a hard drive in for my g/f it was the esc key. Pretty easy to do. Then again, I try to fix everything myself, so I probably put a little more effort in than most.

lsass is a windows application, but also gets mistaken for malware and has a virus installer behind it to in some cases...
