Around 5:20pm this afternoon attempting to merge from 275W to 75S. 5-7 car pile up with at least one fleeing the scene. She was in the middle of it all. 2008 Toyota Corolla totaled.

She is ok, but pregnant, so we'll have to get an ultrasound done this Thursday :)

My question is, what is done when your car is totaled, but you still have payments. Does the insurance co. square up with the bank? Do we pay for a car that doesn't exist?

Unless you have GAP insurance the insurance company would give you book value for the car. The car can be replaced I am glad to hear you wife is Ok and I will say a prayer for the little one.

They will cover it as long as you don't owe more then it's worth.. If you owe more, You will be responsible for the balance..
Glad to hear your wife is OK

If your wife's car was caught up in the middle, then it should be someone elses fault. Your insurance should either replace the car or give you book value. Then it would be time to find out who was at fault and let your insurance co go after them. Getting in touch with a lawyer would be a good idea too, concidering the child involved. Stuff like that gets expensive!! Good to hear she is OK. Hope the baby just got swished around a little.

Hope your wife and baby-on-the way are ok Bob. Insurance should cover it. I hope so anyway.

I am glad to hear she seems to be OK.

I would contact an attorney. If the person at fault is under-insured you will have to pick up the tab for what's left...either out of pocket or your insurance. With that many people involved you might have to fight to get the full value, especially if the at-fault driver only carried the minimum amount of insurance.

Glad everyone is alright.

Pics of the car if you don't mind, I'd like to see how it held up. I might be looking for something new soon. Leaning towards a Cobalt or Focus though thru Beefcake.

glad shes ok

as far as fault it could be a trickle effect

if she hit someone they may say her fault

if she was hit from behind shes fine

my wife got hit and knocked into a car and that car hit another the lady that hit my wife was at fault for all

if there was a wreck and your wife hit one of them she may be at fault for that car and the one that hit her responsible for hers

as far as payoff it depends on what its worth vs what u owe if u have gap your fine

That looks bad. It could have been worse though. On the other hand once again some low life flee's the scene of a accident instead of owning up to there mistake. I hope the f'r gets what coming to them.

Yep, its a gonner.

With the heavy frontal damage was she rammed into the car in front or unable to stop in time.

Did the air bags go off? Doesn't look like it.

I hope all goes well tomorrow at the doctors.

She hit the second or third car in the accident and then was hit in the rear a few times which sent her back into the the cars in front. Like a pinball.

The guy she hit fled the scene and is getting the blame as of now.

Air bag went off too.
