I am getting ready to tear into my motor, and have most of the parts. But I forgot to get lifters. The car has 22k babied miles and is still running the stock cam (which is being changed). Is it mandatory to change the lifters when installing a new cam, especially ones with so low of miles?

Thoughts? Opinions?

I wouldn't bother, you should be fine.

Roller lifters dont need to be changed like flat tappets do.You can get away with a cam swap with the same lifters. If you really want to save some time, use some of the Anderson Ford Motorsport Tappet tools. They save from having to remove the lower intake, and some times the upper if you dont have to remove it for the valve covers.

Thanks for the info. I am actually installing the TFS Street Heat kit and doing from the cam up so it's all coming apart. This will save me $100...which I can put towards something else!
