MAA 2009 Mustangs Across America

My wife and I are thinking about registering and going on this trip. Mustangs Across America, starts in Las Vegas and ends in Birmingham. 5 day trip. 570 mustangs registered already. My question is this. Has anyone done this in the past? If so, is it a good time and is it worth doing?

Have you watched it on TV? It looks fun but not worth it to me. Considering the wear and tear on your vehicle. The check points didnt seem interesting enough to travel that far.
