May have clutch issues

I think my clutch might be going out. It has been slipping a little and other times it seems like it engages late. Can anyone give me a few other possible symtoms that i might look for. Also how difficult would it be to install a new one. I am mechanicaly inclined and not affriad of trying to do something out myself if it can be done.
