I am in the middle of a build and I am swapping the clutch out on my 94 GT. Since my wife will be driving this car I was curious on how much "pedal effort" is needed. Is it much harder than stock or is it easier.

Thanks for any imput.

Supposed to be 10% lighter pedal effort than the stock clutch, but with more clamping force.

Make sure it's a real Ford or Valeo clutch....

Yeah I saw all the imitations out there on ebay. To be sure I ordered from latemodelrestoration. I added to my backorder stuff so shipping was free. After I ordered it I got to thinking about pedal feel. Last time I did a clutch swap was 14 years ago and it was a RAM kelvar clutch and it was workout to use it.

I have a RAM HD clutch right now and in traffic it gets so bad my leg shakes! and sometimes when I'm getting on it my butt will actually lift off the seat trying to get all the pedal I can.

That sounds about like the one I had in my 86 GT. Kept anyone else from wanting to drive it, but it sucked in a long cruise.

I had a Valeo King Cobra clutch in mine, I thought the pedal was much harder than stock, this was confirmed when I switched to a CF dual friction clutch which had half the pedal effort of the king cobra.

The one I had years ago was a lot stiffer than the one I recently put in.

I have figured out if you can make the the stock cable work...washers/grinding the quadrant...what ever it takes it will make the pedal a lot lighter than any adjustable one.

Ask Curt, Ricky, Steve or anyone that has felt my clutch...they are amazed at how light the pedal is...my escort zx2 is harder than the Flamer. Lol
