Probably have a plugged up pushrod. You did just have the top off the motor it is easy for a little piece of trash to get in.

How is your overall oil pressure? With SBF's, the lifter bore clearances are really tight, I think the spec is something like .002-.003 or something like that. If a lifter bore was out of spec, you might not get any oil up that pushrod. Just a thought.

I can't say for sure, you might not even be getting any oiling in that lifter bore. I've never used it, but you could try and run some motor flush through the engine and see if it helps. I would start there before I started tearing into it any further.
The reason I mentioned what I did was because of a motor I had machined probably 15 yrs ago when I first got into mustangs. An old school machinist who mainly worked on SBC's honed my lifter bores. That doesn't affect SBC's like it does on a Ford.

Are you sure the pushrod is seated in the depression on the lifter? I have seen a misslocation (pushrod off to one side) work just fine.....for a very short period of time. Pull the push rod and make sure it is seated!

I've tried pullin it out and puttin bak in...I replaced the lifters because it had a tick and it was comin from the same side(drivers) reason being because the lifter wasnt gettin oil which caused it to collapse(same problem)..Im goin to give andy law a call tomarrow and c what he says,I rly appreciate everyones help.

All the oil galleys should be getting oil, pull that lifter and prime with drill, make sure that bgalley is getting oil, I cannot see how it wouldn't..

yeah its straight, It is absolutly not the push rod. we have even changed them out a couple times. The motor is getting oil up all the pushrods except the one he stated. we could see it plainly because we took the valve cover off and started it. There is something clogging this new lifter again or something. I guess we will tear it apart and keep everyone posted
