Anyone know anything about a chinese made mak-90 in a 7.62? what kind on price? reliabilty?parts? junk or not? I have a chance to purchase one with tri-pod, decent scope, 5- 50 round mags, composite stock.

AKMs made in China by NORINCO. Semiauto copy of Chinese model 56. 16" barrel, chromed bore, stamped receiver and trigger. Receiver appears to be blued, bolt carrier and bolt appear to be chromed. These are slightly better finished AKM's and the original AKM's came with a folding "pig sticker" bayonet. Chambered in 7.62x39mm and 5.56x45mm

What ever it is, if you are getting a good price, snatch it up. I have seen normal AK-47s going for over 700! I got mine a few years ago for 399. The mak originally came with a thumb hole stock. Basically a Brady bill passable ak-47.

I agree with Decker, get it while you can. However make sure your get a Chinese model as the other makes of the mak-90's have had issues with cheap springs and barrel lining that fail on them.

Stock looking model, also make sure it has Norinco stamped on it.

Here is a great link on the history of the AK's.

Worth reading about them to know a little bit of the weapons history.
