been battling this for a week now. before it would peg the temp gauge ( no good ) bleed the system and then it shows half on the temp gauge when cruising around. though ok I'm good pulling onto my street it just keeps climbing and climbing. radiator fluid boiling over in the over flow tank. im at a loss. thermostat is not stuck closed or open. checked it and put a new on in. :fuss:

edit: damnit hit enter and now the title is just over. meant to be overheating issues!

could have a clogged heater core or a water pump going bad or a radiator clogged effecting the flow

water pump has 1,000 miles on it but its a possibility. heater core is by passed right now. i thinking maybe bad fan clutch. isnt it is supposed to lock up and be hard to spin? its lose and just spins freely?

well you could have a kinked hose where the heater core is bypassed and i have seen new water pumps be bad and might be a fan issue either run a flex fan or a electric fan get rid of the clutch fan

its capped. then from thermostat to water pump is a 90* bend. ( pre bent heater hose) i have a mark 8 fan but wont it be to much draw on the stock alt? and it sucks because there calling for 70*+ and sunny tomm here!

Jack up the left front of the car and burp it again. Maybe there is another air pocket in there. Jacking up the car will make the cap the highest point and help anymore air make its way out.

I am not telling you to do this, but I have. My Ranger has a bad fan clutch and I can grab it while its running and stop it from rotating. My truck is fine driving it, but if I have to sit too long in traffic or something it will boil over.

when you say it overheats driving we talking 5 mph or driving along down the road at a decent clip, because if it was a fan issue it would overheat at idle/low speed the pump/radiator will take care of the car while driving.

well. its weird. i was on the highway coming home going along at 70 which is a little over 2,000 rpms like 2,200-2,300 and it started to climb. got off the exit and going down a road. 35mph road. going about 30 the temp dropped. then pulling onto my street going 25 the temp just start going up and up and up.

i need to go to jegs and get the sending unit to hook up my autometer gauge as well still, i dont trust factory gauges to the tick mark but when the fulid is boiling its a problem.

and both lower and upper hoses have pressure and hot while running?

yes, they burn to touch them, i have a flex a light fan. i, going to jegs tomm to get the sending unit for my autometer gauge and the spacer for it. then go from there and try bleeding it some more. maybe i still have air in the system but your think after 20 mins of running it would be free of that. also going to double check the timmimg. and it seems to have a miss. =[

welp i think the head gaskets on it are the cause of my over heating issues.
