c4 trans identificaition??

How do i determine the year of a c4?? where do i like for part numbers or id numbers? and how much trans fluid goes in them?

Also note the bellhousings are different for some model years.

71 302/C4 into a 75 chassis was fine, until I decided to add headers. Headers on a Mustang II is bad enough, but when starter is in wrong position, it became a nightmare.
