So i thought i'de share a friend of mine's Evo that we've been taking up to Milan, Norwalk, and 42.. trying to not get kicked out ha

Its a Buschur built 2.0L, Stage 3 block and head, HTA86 on a shearer fab mani. Custom Buschur intake manifold. Buschur trans, t-case. LSD's in all three diff's.

dosen't run too bad for a street car that runs around on pump gas alot.

Some footage i've taken of it so far

The video:

Well I'll say it. That thing is bad ass. Has that car been painted or did they come in that blue? I know they had a blue, but that one looks alot better than the others.

Seeing the video, the in car footage of Marion County brings back fond memories!
Cool Evo.
Are they still dialing it in?
The reason I ask is, it seems with over 600WHP and all wheel drive, it should ET quicker than 11.0.

That's very likely, as our local "fast evo", is making similar numbers, and has went 9's. At the end of the vid, it said the car went 10.3@141 on pump, which sounds dead on.

That's actually Marion County Int'l Raceway (MCIR), or what the locals call LaRue. It's an IHRA track. I practically lived there from 1983 to 1991 or 92 on the weekends.

http://www.mcir.com/index.php

Holy crap! They have really done a lot of work on the old place!
I haven't been up ther since the early 90's, and all they had then was the tower, wooden bleachers, 1 building for food and shitter and gravel pits! Looks like Guthrie's kids made a commitment and invested in the place!

the owner of the car is definately white, so its an american guy that works on his own car.

with the new motor that just got dropped in it should be in the low 700awhp on buschur's Mustang dyno either late this year or earily next year. new and fresh motor, along with a new intake mani and bigger injectors (went to 220's and took the 1680's out of it)

last time we had it to the track it went 9.97 at larue with an average 1.46 60' ha

FYI - Brian's (blue Evo) and my setup were almost identical in 2008. In 2009, he went a little crazier than I......small brakes to fit 15" wheels, larger turbo and an intake manifold. I kept mine the same in 2009. But watch out for 2010.

Little problem there. My car can back up what my mouth says. He just continually runs and hides whenever anyone calls him or his daddy out. Take a look around on CSS and SRD, you'll get the idea pretty quickly.

I personally don't care if its a 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 or 16 cylinder car. I don't care if its FWD, RWD or AWD. I don't care if it has a power adder or not. I don't care if its built in the US, Japan, Korea, or anywhere else. If its fast it gets respect from me and about 99% of all car people. Its the inbred retards like him that think "only my Mustang's fast.....that Jap crap ain't worth a shit" that make people that own other cars think less of all people that own that type of car (Mustang in this example).

You have no idea how many people come up to me at the dragstrip and compliment me on how fast my car is......and I'm talking about older guys that are die-hard V8's and carbs. They say they're not into Imports, and I'm ok with that, but they give respect where respect is due and I typically have really good conversations with those guys after that. So yes, I get a little worked up when a snot nosed kid continually runs his mouth all over the internet about how fast his daddy's Mustang is and then won't back it up when he gets called out.

The car ended up making 640.9awhp on Buschur's Mustang Dyno on 31 lbs (street boost) and on 38(moderate boost) it made 670awhp. we'll be at Dragway 42 tomorrow to make some passes in it. another video will be following up soon

the reason for only 38 lbs is the fuel pressure started to fall during the run so it was aborted and boost turned down some, we'll be going and modifying both of the pumps so they'll make and hold more fuel pressure and solving the pressure issue. at the same time, it'll be turned up to ~43 lbs or so. Dave buschur is going to meet us at the track and do alittle bit of tune touch up's and stuff like that.

that car's badass. It's ironic that it 60' what it does. I've noticed that AWD is not as much of an advantage when cubic dollars get thrown at the cars. (street or track) Case in point: Outlaw DR guys going 1.2x on DRs vs. this guy going, what did it say... .30s or .40s with AWD on four slicks? And then there were those 502 Talons that kick butt in Louisville, but got stomped at Cash Days. Ms. Misery is a pretty serious AWD effort, with good results. But you know what I mean.

What kind of dollar amount has been invested in this car?
The reason I ask is, I'm just curious and I don't have a clue what it costs to make these cars be reliable, and produce the numbers it is making.

i don't have a dollar figure because frankly i just don't care. its not my car or my money so therefore i don't care how much is in it. the biggest thing is reliability, these cars weren't designed to make 600+ whp and live forever. it goes through trans' and t-cases regularly. had an issue with breaking diff's for a while, but solved that one

we were just at 42 yesterday, and with a few issues it went 10.22 at 151. Got some more in it, just gotta get a clean pass and it should click off a 9.60 to 9.50. Dave Buschur thinks it'll go a little faster, but for me I'll leave it low and see if he can make the pass to go faster than what I'm predicting.
it typically 60's in the 1.44-1.55's, but with how the track was, it wouldnt go into the 40's just mid to upper 50's

Yea, it sucks trying to get AWD cars to 60ft. Best 60ft in my car is 1.44 I think on a set of 17" MT motorcycle slicks.

Biggest advantage is with a RWD car, just get the damn thing to transfer all the weight to the back wheels and make it hook. With AWD, you do that and the front tires go up into a ball of smoke and it doesn't 60ft for shit. You have to make the entire car squat for it to 60ft decently. Doesn't help there aren't any purposely designed full slicks for 17" wheels that fit the Evo.

1.6x is good for street tires.
1.5x is good for drag radials.
1.4x is good for slicks.
1.3x - you're a 60 footing God in the AWD world.
1.2x - there's a few out there, but typically those cars are 4-linked in the rear end.
