I got myself an E85 composition tester made by Kent-Moore off of Ebay last week and it showed up today. It is really easy to use, put a small sample of fuel into the tester, get the reading in Hz from a multimeter from the tool and subtract 50 to get the percentage of ethanol present in the fuel. I got 134.33Hz-50=84.33% ethanol from the sample I got from the Gas America in Moraine today. If I have time this week and am in the neighborhood I am going to test the other stations in the area and see how consistent the different stations are around here to see how uniform the blends are from station to station.

It's good to know that I have the "good stuff" already and the timing that I am running can be considered conservative for E85. Turning up the timing a few more degrees shouldn't be an issue if I ever get the itch to see just how much I can squeeze out of these stock heads and cams.

If anyone wants to borrow the tool to test their local E85 station I am sure that can be arranged.

I don't have me a handy dandy hand held electric tire filler upper yet though!
