We stuck a fresh rebuilt T5 in the '67, and right out of the box we are having problems. There is a whine in 1 and 3, clatter in 2 and 4, and it will not stay in reverse. I know nothing about T5 guts, but it seems that we are way too tight in the top gears and way loose in the bottom gears. Is it a shim issue, shifter linkage issue, or what?
The rebuilder is going to make it right, I was just wondering if it is an issue that pops up sometimes. I have never heard of it.
