Odd clutch noise

The 00 GT started making a odd noise yesterday. When you are off the clutch and car is cold it makes a whining like rattling noise, push the clutch in and it's gone. Shift into the next gear and same noise. After about 1-2 miles and it seems the clutch warms up and the noise is gone until next time I let it cool down good then it's back. Any idea's what this could be? I have no idea about the mileage on the clutch but I do know it grabs really good...

Correct me if Im wrong but it could only be your throw out bearing if your foot was on clutch and it was "whining" right? My clutch also does the same thing he's talking about and has been for some time now but it still grabs quick and has no slip in it so im not worried yet.

When I say off the clutch my foot is actually off the peddle...the clutch is engaged...this is when the whining noise is heard...for about 1.5 miles...

hmmmm does the noise happen when your in neutral say like sitting at a light with your foot of the clutch? or only when your in gear

Only when in gear and under power..it's a whining rattling noise...hard to describe... no it does not make any noise while stopped or rolling and out of gear

well im puzzled hopefully someone else will jump in and help you out keep us updated if you find anything out

Will do...also it's not when the car warms up...I can let it sit and idle for 15 mins...when I pull out it still takes about 1-1.5 miles before it quits...

The clutch pedal doesnt move a lot of things when depressed.It moves the throwout bearing to contact the clutch pressure plate.I would venture to say its the throw out bearing.They seem to make an assortment of noises.And almost always the noise goes away when the clutch is depressed.
